I speak from experience and in part from Sheila E's testimony. Also, 2 people can have the same instructor, and pick up different things. Also, some people play by hearing, notes, allow the Lord to direct, using what they learned to see how it can or can not be incorporated in the verse, chorus, or bridge of song, etc.
