*If anyone thinks the size of this crowd is impressive, in July 1987 Phil played four consecutive sellout nights at the 80,000-capacity Wembley Stadium with Genesis. It was a record at the time and stood for five years until Michael Jackson played seven nights. In 1986/1987 Genesis were likely the biggest musical act on the planet, as in addition to the four nights at Wembley their 1986 album 'Invisible Touch' went to No.1 in the US and spawned a remarkable five Top 5 US singles. This of course was also in the midst of Phil's incredible solo success.*

It amuses me to no end, that I used to listen to songs without actually understanding much of the lyrics well into my twenties, as a non native speaker. I was a teen in the 90's, when 'looking things up' wasn't as easy and convenient a task as it is today. We just hummed along, repeated whatever we did understand and somehow the music still worked really well for us.
