19:50 talking about making mistakes on stage. I played in a few small bands as a bassist and keyboard player. The first time I ever played a show it was to like 15 people and my first mistake, by trying to go into a bridge or chorus too soon I dont remember its been 20 years, I just naturally was able to laugh it off, wait a beat and then come back in. I kept that same routine for a while then I tried to not even acknowledge when I messed up by keeping a straight face and that is much harder it felt weird. But I would always watch the crowd and no matter how big or small when you mess up like half the audience knows you messed up and looks at you with that confused smirk and trying to act like it didn't happen made them just stare so I went back to laughing it off every time. But I will never forget my 8th show. We were opening for A Day to Remember (before they took off) in this tiny venue in tulsa called the pink eye and the lead singer was standing front and center. As soon as I messed up he locked eyes with me and looked pissed but was still nodding his head to the music with his arms crossed. It was the most awkward I have ever felt on stage like a deer in headlights lol. Sorry for the essay lol.

If you watch the Rush Show of Hands, you’ll even see Neil Peart screw up Spirit of Radio… and Alex Lifeson is laughing at him real time… even the virtuosos flub every once in a while. Amazing recovery… if you didnt know the song you would have never noticed it.

As a young drummer growing up in the sixties and seventies the double bass pedal was in it's infancy so I had little to no experience with them. I was more of a John Bonham style drummer using finesse tecniques with the bass and during my fills. I really got into the concept of DB watching Mike Portnoy and now by watching your videos. You are an amazing talent Gabe! Congrats on your well earned succes.

So Gabe, in a past life I was a drummer. Played some East Bay warehouse shows then was accepted to USAF OCS and got to chase my dream of flying. Gave the wife and fam a tour of non-exciting Air Force bases for a while until I realized the US MIC may not be a force for good in the world. Seems like so many lifetimes ago, now just a retired middle aged beat up pilot back in the rat race trying to get his girls a proper launch on their paths. Was intrigued by this and watched all the way through and quickly became a fan, bought my first iPrevail CD today. Thank you for sharing your private time with us. What a talented "young man" you are, you seem like a pretty nice guy and it's always a pleasure to see nice guys live out their dreams. Keep up the good work, break a leg and all that and watch those blisters! All the best, God Bless.

For finger injuries, cover the affected area in whatever porous clean medium you can get and wrap it kinda tightly in electrical tape. It won't move, the structure and adhesive level hold together whatever wound you're trying to seal up and it's low friction enough that it won't keep you from being useful. I used to gash my hands up at work and I'd just clean and seal them with a little cotton and electrical and could operate the rest of the day without noticing.
