The most comprehensive course on poverty, employment, and unemployment explained both from the general and India's perspective. Ayussh Sanghi has explained every little detail with the best examples. Must-watch for aspirants of all the major government examinations - UPSC CSE/IAS, SSC CGL, Bank PO, and more.
Poverty is general scarcity or the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money. It is a multifaceted concept, which includes social, economic, and political elements. Absolute poverty or destitution refers to the lack of means necessary to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.[2] Absolute poverty is meant to be the same independent of location. Relative poverty occurs when people in a country do not enjoy a certain minimum level of living standards as compared to the rest of the population and so would vary from country to country, sometimes within the same country.
Employment is a relationship between two parties, usually based on a contract where work is paid for, where one party, which may be a corporation, for profit, not-for-profit organization, co-operative or other entity is the employer and the other is the employee. Employees work in return for payment, which may be in the form of an hourly wage, by piecework or an annual salary, depending on the type of work an employee does or which sector she or he is working in. Employees in some fields or sectors may receive gratuities, bonus payment or stock options. In some types of employment, employees may receive benefits in addition to payment. Benefits can include health insurance, housing, disability insurance or use of a gym. Employment is typically governed by employment laws or regulations or legal contracts.
The unemployment rate is a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labor force. During periods of recession, an economy usually experiences a relatively high unemployment rate. According to International Labour Organization report, more than 200 million people globally or 6% of the world's workforce were without a job in 2012.
There remains considerable theoretical debate regarding the causes, consequences, and solutions for unemployment. Classical economics, new classical economics, and the Austrian School of economics argue that market mechanisms are reliable means of resolving unemployment. These theories argue against interventions imposed on the labor market from the outside such, as unionization, bureaucratic work rules, minimum wage laws, taxes, and other regulations that they claim discourage the hiring of workers.
Keynesian economics emphasizes the cyclical nature of unemployment and recommends government interventions in the economy that it claims will reduce unemployment during recessions. This theory focuses on recurrent shocks that suddenly reduce aggregate demand for goods and services and thus reduce demand for workers. Keynesian models recommend government interventions designed to increase demand for workers; these can include financial stimuli, publicly funded job creation, and expansionist monetary policies. Its namesake economist John Maynard Keynes, believed that the root cause of unemployment is the desire of investors to receive more money rather than produce more products, which is not possible without public bodies producing new money.

A Solution for Unemployment, Economic crisis And Trade war...... Our world is traveling through a period like serious issue of unemployment, economic crisis and trade wars. Presently major part of the products using by the common people are made from a country. This allows a certain country to become rich, and the peoples in other countries cannot find jobs in their country. I am very much curious to find a solution for this problem. This issue increase the number of unemployed peoples in all other countries. A certain country becomes as the world's production house. It is not acceptable, we must have to divide production to every country or we have to find a solution to getting opportunity to the other countries to produce and market their products. I think that I can suggest the best idea to avoid the Unemployment, Economic crisis and Trade wars. Every country has to get market for their products at least in their country. Now a days we can see that a certain countries products are available all over the world and we can say that they are the production house of world. This situation must have to change. Each countries must have to take action against this to secure their market at least for their own products. To control these products in any countries market, they just have to realize the the promotion of these products. So we must have to realize that how they are promoting their products successfully. We can see that they are promoting their products psychologically (low price). The price difference between the same product of any other country (low price) make a tendency to attract the people. So first we have to find a solution to control this mode of promotion. To control this, one can fix a minimum price for each product in their country. Ie. Imported products price must not be less than the price of home country products. If you are selling a ball pen in a supermarket, there should be home countries products and imported product, the price will not less than the home country products. Equality of price will make the people to think, and they will chose the right one. Also one who is looking for a particular brand, they will choose it only. They don't care about the price. This situation will allow the products of every countries to find market. It will allow the products to maintain the quality. Once every countries have the opportunity to perform a competitive market, it will allow to increase the production in every land. So that naturally it will increases the employment rate. It will adjust the equilibrium of unemployed people in every country. I think this is the only way to adjust the equilibrium of world economy.

Interesting! Today millions of people use the biblical advice is to get out from the shackles of poverty and unemployment (Matthew 7:7,8) ""Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." So, to break out of the shackles, we need: a plan, perseverance, purposefulness!
