Hello C. Ann! 😃 Once again thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, you are correct, I do my best to respect the fact that some people may not want to be filmed (which happens frequently). And there are some places where I am extremely careful, such as parks where children may be playing, and above all, beaches. I know that if I wanted to have videos with hundreds of thousands of views I'd just have to go to a popular beach and film women wearing skimpy bikinis. I get many comments requesting that kind of content. But I actively avoid getting too close to beaches, because the people who are there certainly didn't ask to be filmed. This is even more important when it comes to children. This week's video will be the 2nd part of the Medieval Fair in Obidos! 😀

Boa Tarde Miguel!! Way to spot that Ford Fiesta... at least 500 + years, huh? LOL My Mum had one and it was the first car I drove... back in the 1970's!! You know, I found it fascinating that Óbidos had more than one church. I thought surely all these homes could be accommodated with only one church. In Atouguia, we had 3 churches... Igreja de São Leonardo, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Graça, & the one closest to my house, Igreja Nossa Senhora Da Conceição... but also more than 4 times the population of Óbidos. You always make me giggle. Medieval cell phone! What a terrific video of the Festa. I think I may have mentioned I spent a lot of time in Óbidos. My Portuguese teacher held her classes just outside the main gate, so I was often there twice a week. Most of the time it was pretty quiet... except of course at Christmas! I really loved exploring outside the castle walls, on the Western side. The sunsets from there were amazing and those views towards the atlantic and the lagoa are just spectacular. Olaaa Jen! 😀 My dad's first car was a bright orange Ford Escort (early/mid-70s model, first generation), I think this was a Europe-only car. I luckily (or bizarrely / misteriously, long story...) survived a terrible car crash in it when I was a little kid, caused by a drunk truck driver. 😅 Yes, the number of churches in Óbidos is very interesting. It was probably due to its historical importance, a village punching above its weight, so to speak. They even converted one of the churches into a book store. 😀 I love Óbidos so much that after returning home from the Fair, I went online to check property prices, to see if it would make sense in the distant future to move there. But prices for homes located inside the medieval walls are quite high, as one would expect. Very limited supply and investors looking for properties to list on Airbnb pump up the prices. Must have been awesome to have your Portuguese classes there! Obrigado e boa semana! 😀

@@POVTours I hear you... I've kept an eye out on the real estate in Óbidos too. I only wish I had been able to invest prior to the bloody pandemic. They do have micro apartments in there for sale... yours for only €200K. I looked it up and the Fiesta came to Canada in 1977-1980. I got my license in 1979... so that tracks. Shhhhh, essa data é um segredo! 😉

De uma beleza e magia inquestionáveis…lembro quando do outro vídeo que fizeste de Óbidos, que falaste que nestas épocas de festas, além dos fins-de-semana, o número de visitantes é incalculável… e este vídeo prova isto! É um mar de gente, uma verdadeira Babel de línguas! Por umas duas vezes, entre o mar de “línguas estranhas” que ouvi percebi o português do Brasil. Inclusive dois que não falavam, mas estavam em uma loja de guloseimas trajados com a camisola do Flamengo! Fico imaginando os locais, os nativos… devem enlouquecer com uma agitação destas em uma localidade tão pequena! Claro, os mais calminhos pois quem gosta de agito deve vibrar! Os comerciantes então nem se fala! Mas não detectei guias turísticos…penso que, excetuando quem fala português ou espanhol… talvez o inglês… outras pessoas, de outras línguas, teriam enorme dificuldade sem um(a) guia ou alguém conhecido da região que os ciceroneasse! Olá Ludwig, boa segunda-feira! 😀 Sim, imensas famílias brasileiras no mercado medieval e na vila de Óbidos. É algo que tenho reparado, os brasileiros apreciam muito estes eventos medievais 😊 E os 2 flamenguistas na zona dos crepes! Muito pouca gente vive permanentemente no interior das muralhas de Óbidos. Muitas casas de férias e de fim de semana, e também muitas propriedades que são usadas para alugar a turistas. Os poucos que ali moram já devem estar habituados. 😀 Não havia guias turísticos porque na hora que comecei a filmar (6 da tarde) já era tarde para os grupos de turistas que chegam de Lisboa, etc. Normalmente os grandes grupos de turistas estrangeiros chegam da parte da manhã/hora de almoço. Abraço e uma excelente semana!
