You may have already discovered that since it's pretty well known, but thought I would mention it in case you or anyone else sees this. I've ordered from them several times. Great service for the most part. Out of the 6-8 times I've ordered from them, I had one order delayed around the holidays, but fast service otherwise. Hope this helps.

I have the updated version of the Powecom masks GB2626-2019. They have a good anti-counterfeit system. The smell is still burnt plastic. The solution is take them out of the bag, open them up slightly, let them air out for two days and the smell is gone. I wore mine all day for 10 hours, nearly continuously. I use mask extenders and clips to stretch the upper and lower portions of each ear loops to replicate the head straps and even if 10+ removal and reapplication the loops are fine. This mask would be perfect if it doesn't have that smell but there is a solution. You'll just have to pre-air the mask. I hang mine up on hooks so I just take the next mask in line.

I drop a wrapped stick of gum in the bag. Works perfect and has a nice mint smell

I ordered the white ones from office depot. However, they are not individually wrapped and the bag is just so easy to open and not sealed. I was wondering if its the real thing.

That's traditionally how their masks are packed, so I was surprised to see these wrapped. The bag is not sealed either. It's folded over with a sticky closure. That said, they are great masks that have tested well time and again (and this type of packing is not unusual for masks/respirators, a lot do not come sealed). They did start making also though masks that come in individual tear open packages (similar to KF94 packages) about a year or so ago. Last time I checked they were a little more expensive, but they are available like that now for people that prefer them in sealed packages.

I have been wearing the Powecom KN95 masks, black and white, for a couple of years. I've never had a strap break. (I cinch earloops back off my ears with a lanyard--can't bear to have them pulling on my ears for more than a few minutes.) They do have a little sweetish plastic smell*. I buy them from Bona Fide Masks. Their prices are lower than on Amazon, plus I'd rather support a reputable family business. *Going to give the Armbrust a try now, though--if they fit me well, it would be nice to get away from breathing Chinese plastic smell.

Is the “water test” a valid test for kn95s or is it inaccurate? I seen a video saying to put a little water in your kn95 and if it drips water, it fails the water test. Sure enough, my powecom “failed” the water test. I don’t want to toss them for no good reason.

I'd say that would only tell you anything about the first layer of the mask which is not the one that filters.

i bought the headband style powecomkn95. I find that they end up all wet and too close to my mouth as the mask is too small. Smell goes away with airing.

Make sure it has the hologram seal on the back, not sure if this one’s real. I ordered mine from Shop HQ and that name on the right was not on the original package and they do not come individually in plastic in the package . Powecom black mask are the real deal it’s the only one I buy…

Lloyd says he does his test at 85 l/min but his screen shows that is obviously not true. Why not just adjust the machine to test at 85 l/min?

That smell you're smelling is likely from the fumigation bomb they drop into the shipping container. Walk into any store or warehouse that has a lot of imported furniture, clothing, whatever - same smell.
