For the heavier leather, I used a drill and drill bit to make the holes instead of hole punch if leather was too thick. Smaller drill bit for smaller holes and larger drill bit for larger holes.

I use key rings to lock in the conchos to the belt, they work to much better😃

That makes no sense an awl is way quicker and more accurate than one of those dinosaur ass hope punches that are hard to use.

Lol I didn’t have the right awl, I had a beading awl. And the hole punch worked just fine so 🤷🏻‍♀️
