As far as I'm aware, Yordles like Heimerdinger are very hard to fully kill because they are made mostly of magic, and the show leaves it unclear if this is one of the few ways that could make him die permanently. So it's entirely possible that at some point in the future, Heimerdinger will basically just reform totally fine back in the homeland of the Yordles, but if he isn't dead forever he is at the very least gone for now and without an easy way to get back to the original timeline anymore

Wild to think this is what the city would look like without hextech and with a version of Heimerdinger who is aware of the plight of the undercity, after only 3 or 4 years. Makes me sad to think that Piltover could have changed so much for the Zaunites so easily if they'd ever bothered to try, but at the same time, maybe it should also give me hope that they still can just as quickly in the future? Also, I love that the end calls back to episode 4 of season 1, where Heimerdinger says that the greatest accomplishment of a teacher is to sacrifice everything for the lives and legacies of his students

Great react, heimerdinger died in that scene, he had to hold the cables and was electrocuted by the electricity, it was completely evaporated by the power

Yeah, seems like he intended to go back too, but then the machine started malfunctioning and he decided to hop out and make adjustments to be sure Ekko made it, even if it meant sacrificing himself

​@mikulover493 idk, maybe sad wasn't their intent? This was a sort of triumphant moment for Heimerdinger. In this timeline he got to fix the mistakes he made with Piltover and Zaun that got him kicked off the council in the first place, and then he left the fate of the original Piltover in Ekko's capable hands and made a sacrifice for the future of his pupil, just like he praised his old friend Stanwick for back in season 1
