Thank you for making this video. Could you please tell me what brand of white tape you used for the inside of the forks tubes.

Hey very nice on the front fork pieces. Would like to about the stickers you used are they a special material to withstand the heat. You said in vidio you cooked the orange first for 7 min. Then applied stickers then did you fog the black then cook it all the way and remove stickers. If you have done one with more detail please let me know. Great work though thanks keep dusting

So yes I went about 70% of cure time after flow out on the first coat. Pulled it from the oven and let it cool. I used Oracal 651 vinyl (its more heavy duty) as the stencil. They sprayed the black and back in the oven until it flowed out. Pulled the pieces back out and then pulled the vinyl. Now that's the part you have to be careful about. If its to hot then when you do the pull, the powder will be stringy and can come off with the vinyl. If you wait until its to cool then the powder will start to harden and when you do the pull it flakes and breaks off. I hope that makes sense. Yes I have done stuff with more detail and its a pain. I have found that a hair dryer or heat gun can be a huge help. It'll help keep the powder more pliable when pulling the vinyl.

did the wire on the passing lamp burn in the oven?

What are you sandblasting with? Sand, crushed walnut, glass? Thanks!

Now you have something worth watching. I started out with a kool koat 2.0 used it for a long time. Now I use a Gema. Eastwood is garbage. I still have my 2.0 great guns

Oh yeah get the wide mouth nozzle

Yeah it started out as just little projects around the house so the Eastwood gun was fine. Then I started getting people wanting me to do stuff.

What happened with the two tone levers? What went wrong ? I noticed they were all black

Had a change of plan by the customer that wanted it done.

I have heard that a lot about Eastwood . I am starting up my own deal in a couple months after I recover from shoulder surgery. That new one you just bought sounds nice but little too much for me at the moment being that I will be a newbie at it and not sure if the customer rate will be there but going to buy and try the Redline and if business picks up I want that new one you just bought
@TheNutthouse15 жыл бұрын
M Gears that’s exactly what I did. I’ve had the Eastwood for about a year and it’s been pretty good. Just when you start to do multiple colors it doesn’t preform well. It’s a good fun for someone just doing single colors. But I will tell you the new gun covers much better and more even from what I have noticed. Get better and get out then and start coating.

@@TheNutthouse1 Well , the one I am getting is the Redline , It's supposed to use less powder than the Eastwood and do better 2nd/3rd coats. It runs $350 -400 but worth it to me just because the electric charge button is built into gun itself and not separate

M Gears yes I think that’s my favorite thing about my new gun.

On the hand levers, how did you remove the plastic sleeve ? The forks look amazing !
@TheNutthouse13 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks!! The hand levers didn't have a plastic sleeve on them when I got them. So not sure if the owner had already removed them.

How did you get the black powder to stick to the orange? I tried to do 2 coats on a piece and it never stuck.
@TheNutthouse12 жыл бұрын
So orange is done first. Let it flow out then pull and let it cool down. Apply decals or what ever you’re wanting to do and spray the black. Let it flow out pull and remove decals. Put back in for final bake per directions.

The problem I am having it the second coat doesn't stick.

@@ChrisGolas oh ok I miss understood, my apologies. What gun are you using? Are you able to adjust the KV? Have you checked you ground to make sure it’s clean?
@ChrisGolas2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately all I have is the Eastwood dual volt.
@TheNutthouse12 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisGolas it can still be done with that fun. I started with that one and it’s pretty decent. Just really check your grounding. If what ever you’re hooking your ground to is coated then it’s not going to stick well.

How do you get the flat powdery look instead of the smooth high gloss like you did? Do you think is worth it to just DIY if you are just doing your own bike or send the parts out? Thanks
@TheNutthouse15 жыл бұрын
If you have the time and some patients then do it yourself. I have a lot of fun doing it.

Sorry I just noticed that to asked about a flat look. It’s the powder. They have a gloss and a flat.

Great video! Question: I have a HD engine guard that's chrome and I wanna powder coat it. My plan was to sandblast it then powder coat it just like what you do. However, one of the local powder coating shops told me that if he sand blasts the engine guard it might lose the smoothness look and touch even after powder coating it. What do you think about that sir?
@TheNutthouse14 жыл бұрын
Abdulrahim Alnaser I haven’t had that issue. Now it depends on the media that they se also. I use aluminum oxide for blasting. I’d ask around to see other places say the same. They are probably just saying that to be on the safe side.

@@TheNutthouse1 Great Vid! What grit of aluminum oxide did you use for blasting? Thoughts on that vs. walnut or glass bead option? Thanks

@@christhacker4243 that’s the only thing I’ve ever used. I believe it’s 100/120 grit AO media.
