One important tip from a pro makeup artist I picked up is ‘do not try to set wet foundation or concealer with powder’. So simple yet it’s the main cause of the cakey look. Just think about what happens when you mix flour and water ~ you get dough. Let your product dry down, then apply a light layer of powder. It might take a couple of minutes but the final result will be much much better.

What do you mean by before foundation? Is it before or after primer?
@suecastillo40563 жыл бұрын
@@projnaparomita8155 I’ve tried this and now do it as part of my makeup routine… and I don’t use a primer. I’ve seen 2 different videos. Wayne Goss was the one who presented it first. I watched it many times before I was convinced to try this technique…No primer. Just moisturize first or do what you do before foundation, no primer,( I dont like it and I have a few large pores) lightly dust your whole face with loose piwder( whatever kind of translucent loose powder you use, and apply your foundation and the rest of what you normally do… I swear by this and it works great. I also set my makeup with powder ( lightly) and use a setting spray… it took me a couple tries but I love the way my makeup looks with this. I use “IT” foundation also… full coverage as I have sun damage… it’s a beautiful finish I’ve found and a super technique… I just had to practice doing it. I use a powder puff or a brush sometimes to apply yhe powder all over and then do my foundation… I like the powder puff most, and be careful not to get it under your eyes it can leave wrinkles showing if you have them… I hope this works for you…♥️☮️😘💕

Merci! Very helpful video. I would love for you to consider doing a video about undereye dark circles, especially how to use corrector and powder. As someone with extremely oily skin and at 33yo, finding the right powder for my skin has always been a challenge. I need a very light, blurring powder for my under eye, and a starchy powder to absorb the oil on the rest of my face that doesn’t look cakey. I wish there was one powder to do it all for me - but I will also try the technique of pressing it all on my face after the makeup is done because my peach fuzz is extreme lol 😆 Love your videos, always so informative! 💜

This is so useful! I also use powder to set my eyeshadow primer sometimes, and an old trick I learn when I was young: when I’m going for longevity on my lipstick, I apply a layer of lipstick and the cover with tissue and a light dusting of translucent powder and more lipstick. Also, I only bake when I want to have my face make up in place and I’m afraid of eyeshadow fall out. Also I was waiting to see if you were to share what I consider your best advice about powder: the pushing of powder on the bristles by tapping it on the palm of your hand to distribute it all over the bristles. Best advice!

I appreciate the powder information and tips. I discovered an interesting loose powder last winter and have always wanted to ask you for a review on it. Have you ever come across 'BIOTULIN HYDRONLON MAGIC LOOSE POWDER'? I found it here in Switzerland, and I was pleasantly surprised that it has a non-drying and blurring-softening effect while keeping my make-up fresh. I think it's one of those powders that seems to be beneficial to the complexion the more you use it. I would love to have your opinion on it if you ever get the opportunity to review it. I don't think it's main stream but it is a little gem.
