I have a lot of imperfections in my face at 63, and really need super full coverage. I find the perfect combination for my dry skin is, first, the Laura Geller moisturizing primer, then the It cosmetics cc cream. I finish with the Laura Geller bake, balance and brighten powder foundation (my holy grail!) It really melts into the skin, and I get the coverage I need, giving me the illusion of perfect skin. I once had an Ulta associate comment on how perfect my skin was! I just smiled at her. Thanks for the recommendation on the Milani, which is definitely lower priced than the Laura Geller.

I found that balance and brighten seemed to settle in my small lines and make my pores look bigger. What am I doing wrong? Also allowed the oil in the skin to soak through too quickly and looked greasy after a couple hrs. I wanted to love it more than my stand by barepro powder foundation
@rebeccamunn86733 жыл бұрын
@@leekflower1 Hi! I love the combination I described, and especially the balance and brighten powder. It sounds like you have oilier skin than I do. I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. It’s just that it may not work as well on oilier skin than mine, which is like a desert 😂 I also am probably older than you, too. I think Laura Geller products were designed primarily for us “fine wine “ people. If the barepro powder works for you, l’d stick with it. I’ve found that there’s no product that works perfectly on everyone. You do you! Have a great weekend!

I love powder foundation. It’s such a fast easy option & easy to touch up on the go. Plus it doesn’t take up room in the TSA liquid allowance bag when flying with carryon only. I use Mac Studio Fix. I have dry skin but I’m careful to hyper moisturize & the Josie Maran Argan oil spf on top of the extra moisturizer before powder. Spritz with Mac fix plus after & it keeps me from drying out. I’ll have to try that Milani one.

Unfortunately tho, it seems to be discontinued but other ones I like are Vasanti face base, NYX stay matte but not flat, and MAC studio fix (if used w a super light hand). I have oily-mature-textured skin, and I found that the best primer for my powder foundations is Elf's Oil Control Primer Mist. It's silicone-free and really does help to reduce shine. I then use Milani's Prep Set and Go setting spray which, for me, gives my skin a little glow. My favorite powder foundation is Pur's 4 In 1 pressed powder. It's kind to my mature skin and doesn't look chalky or cakey. The brush that I use to apply it is Elf's Precision Airbrush Blender (clear handle and white bristles). The angled bristles work well with the recommended application method for the Pur powder which is downward strokes. The brush that you used reminds me of the Elf Ultimate Blending Brush - it even has a similarly-shaped ferule though it is probably a little smaller than your brush. Cheers! ~Anastacia in Cleveland

It cosmetics has a really nice brush. The one I have is from QVC, and it’s called the “Complexion Perfection Foundation Brush”. I don’t think it’s quite as large as the one you have, but it’s definitely oversized, and very soft with very densely packed fibers. I use it to apply loose powder after using a very sheer foundation or BB cream. It gives you a little more coverage with the loose powder. I’m sure it would work well with powder foundation also. My aunt gave it to me. I believe she received it with the Celebration Foundation. Ulta also has a very similar one that I believe is slightly larger than the one I have. It’s from the regular It Cosmetics Collection, not the It Brushes for a Ulta Collection. It’s called the “Heavenly Lux Jumbo Powder Brush #3”. Thanks for all your great videos. Great results and 8 hours later it looks like I just applied it. BTW I did a red and green eye using your Wants palette. Very Christmasy but not odd looking at all. You are correct. That tarte one is very similar and for me works decent for powder foundation. Defiantly one of the better ones that have worked for me for this type of product. The tool used can definitely make or break how the product works. Great video/suggestions :)

The It Brushes for Ulta 206 Buffing Mineral Powder brush is exactly like what you're describing except it's a medium size not large. And it makes my Bare Minerals Bare Pro Compact practically magical!

I've been trying to rationalize buying the makeup forever hd foundation powder but now I'm looking at that milani thinking I love milani and it's gotta be cheaper than 38. Glad your back Emily!!!

Look into the Japonesque Domed Powder blush. Looks just like the brush you're featuring. I found mine at Marshall's for $6 or $7. Love it so much!

I love to watch your videos and just love your channel in general! I'm so happy for you that your precious little one is healthy and all is well. Congratulations! However, I did just want to let you know something that I've been scared to say to any KZbinr in the same situation. In the middle of September, I miscarried at a little over 3 months. It was the hardest thing I've ever been through and I'm still not fully emotionally recovered from it. I 100% understand how exciting it is and that you probably love to talk about the new baby. But every single time someone pregnant mentions their pregnancy or new baby, it's like a punch in the gut to me and immediately brings tears to my eyes when I think about my sweet baby I'll unfortunately never get to meet. I know I can't be the only one who experiences this. So I just wanted to make you aware. I'm not even totally sure of a remedy honestly lol I know some moms have separate family or vlogging channels where they speak about pregnancy and stuff. But it's not like I expect any beauty KZbinr who's expecting to do something like that. I guess I just wanted to bring it to your attention and see if there's anyone else out there who feels the same as I do :)
