Just saw this on NHK and had to rewatch. In the interview AC-Bu said they believe “bad drawings” attract people and I agree. I can’t explain the feeling this video gives me, it is similar to uncanny valley...even though uncanny valley arises from things that look “almost too real”, and the faces here are intentionally unrealistic. But at the same time it’s hypnotic and I want to watch it again. It’s like a horror movie or nightmare, disturbing but full of adrenaline and excitement. Excellent work, AC-Bu.

There's a ton of AKIRA imagery in this, which makes sense considering the connotations of youthful rebellion the series evokes. As others have said, Powder only felt free when she was able to quit her old shitty job, so being able to link her desire to quit together with the ethos of AKIRA is really cool. Well done AC-BU!

The more I stare at this animation style the more endearing it becomes. The warped and fragmented visuals invoke a very unique type of psychedelic experience. It's as if we're traveling through what the actual inside of a mind's imperfect interpretations of the world look like, which is fitting for how it depicts the inner monologue of someone's mind
To whoever at Lionsgate who managed to sneak this into John Wick, know that I recognized it almost immediately.
