I like how u made a little set up. Ima be a lineman when I get older, my dream job

That setup is cool. You might be the only one with a distribution system in their backyard. If you could, maybe try power factor correction on the line to see what that does. It might help with the voltage drop, losses, etc. Just a thought :)

Thank you! A while back I did a 2.4 kV setup with a home made PFCC, video will be up soon. Since I am out of the job over this coronavirus fiasco I have had time to do editing and uploading. I applied at my local POCO for inventory clerk, I am hopeful I get the position.

@@metersocket00 Damn, yeah. I am excited to start my apprenticeship at a power company next year when I finish college. In the meantime, I have applied for a labor, welder job for a local limestone quarry. They have abandoned power poles and insulators almost everywhere. Would like to get some of those.

Should have the area blocked off so some curious little kid or adult doesn't let the fire out of the wire

It would make a good fly zapper.

Thank you, I've been hoping to find an old one, and remove the small 10 watt transformer and hook it up to a bigger one.

How much of the potential 'drop' is due to different turns ratios in the pigs? Also, the 500VA pig is running at close to a 100% overload and thus operating losses and potential sag will be worse than normal.
