@@gurvanbodere5461 Cool ! Congratulations on the Lasek , I don't think I've seen the Liberty and Justice Deck at all, at least i don't remember it. Hope you get hold of one sometime. 👊

Same dude. I've been waiting on this deck for a while. I just put up a Buckey Lasek Stadium set up vid on my channel. It rides a like a dream. I want to shred a pool, and yet it's comfortable to just cruise.

Cool 👍🏻 I’ve got a Santa Cruz Eric Dressen as my old school ride at the moment and the Buckys are to hard and expensive to get here at the moment for me to ride one but maybe I’ll grab another when then hype calms down a bit.

My local skate shop couldn't get them so I ordered two off Amazon.

That’s awesome that you got hold of one Neil, a great first board to have too. Bucky is one of my favourite very skaters alongside Bob B, one of my first pairs of proper skate shoes was one of Buckys pro shoes on vans.

Thanks, wasn’t my first board but was one of my most memorable, Bucky is also one of my favourite skaters he’s so good !

I remember a kid turning up with that Hawk board at my park and everyone was amazed at the shape, everyone wanted to ride it. It was really innovative for the time, I remember the tail being quite steep and it had plenty of pop. This kid always got the latest decks but never skated that hard. On his Hawk he had those G&S lightweight trucks that were super expensive and T-Bone wheels way before anyone else got them. My holy grail would be a Vision Gonzales Fat Face mini with a grey stain and yellow/orange graphic. This was my favourite board that I skated when I was younger although I don't think I bought it until 1990? Must have been collecting dust in my local skate shop. I've kept my thrashed deck but would love a NOS or Reissue. The exact same deck did turn up on ebay a few years back but it went for £500 which I thought was too much at the time but now I'd probably pay that.

That’s great to read and very reminiscent, it’s insane how they cost so much now but they are just going up and up it’s hard to comprehend where it will stop if at all !

I need a Lance Mountain reissue. Lance to me is skateboarding. I have the Tony Hawk reissue Claw board and the Schmit Stix Chris Miller reissue.
@NeilHesterSkateboarding3 жыл бұрын
I’ve only got one Lance but it’s original not a reissue but I’ve got a Hawk Claw and Chicken Skull and lots of others. My collection is mostly Powell from the era when I was growing up and skating in the late 80’s and early 90’s to be honest it’s all quite irresponsible nostalgic money splurges but they are nice things to have.
@Tony-ve4se3 жыл бұрын
I forgot to say in my comment if any distributors watch his vids start getting these reissue's in the UK coz it costs about £50 to get it shipped from USA 👍
@NeilHesterSkateboarding3 жыл бұрын
Sadly there is only one distributor for Powell in the UK which is Shiner and they have an exclusive deal. So we are at their mercy which always seems to be incredibly slow these days.
@wakeinfright54983 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure their modern stains are just a tinted urethane painted coat, even the Bucky has one imo. When you held it up against your LM Doughboy you would notice the kick on the tail is more subtle and curved on the Bucky rather than kicked like on the Doughboy due to the modern AirLam pressing process that is used. I much prefer their reissues from the Powell Classic period!
@NeilHesterSkateboarding3 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean, I've seen this before especially on the ripper graphics where the coloured stripes are just tint in the heat transfer but this Bucky is an actual stain you can see fleck areas in the wood grain where the stain didn't get absorbed and its natural wood colour, the same as with the Lance Montain and the other OG stains I have, its a real stain trust me. And with regards to the pressing, yes I said its very similar not exactly the same.

Just wondered which skate shop you got your Bucky board from, back in the day?
@NeilHesterSkateboarding3 жыл бұрын
Concrete Killer in Guildford Surrey
@Skateboarder19743 жыл бұрын
Ah ok, I don’t think I went there. I skated the indoor wooden park in Guildford. Mainly shopped at Surrey’s in Woking and Benz in Newbury. Love your board collection. I was the same about the Bucky board so glad to have got one too.
@NeilHesterSkateboarding3 жыл бұрын
It was in the town centre next to the foot bridge from Debenhams towards the train station a tiny corner shop. I used to go to Surrey’s too and there was a sports shop in the shopping centre in Aldershot that sold skate stuff we would go to as well. I spent i much time at the indoor skate park in Guildford, loved that place . There’s a couple of bits of video of it on KZbin somewhere . Cool that you got a Bucky deck as well 👊🏼

Could be just colour balance in the video or a test print with different ink.

Does Bucky ride 159 or 169 trucks on the stadium
@NeilHesterSkateboarding2 жыл бұрын
Bucky doesn’t really ride them anymore it was his board from the early 90’s I don’t know what he used back then but either would fit depending on you wheel width.
@johndemers63242 жыл бұрын
I know that . But he did ride the reissue a few times Just wondering if he’s setup
@NeilHesterSkateboarding2 жыл бұрын
Yeah he did a session for a Powell promo video and all the guys at the ramp skated the board, they probably used 169’s im pretty sure that’s what I had on my original back in the 90’s
@Owen43682 ай бұрын
he set up 159s, which is weird as it's outside the Indy recommendation and my 169s seem spot on. @NeilHesterSkateboarding
