Clausi! He's too humble, a typical German. He also got signed at Madrid, Santa Cruz... I can't remember his whole history. Europe's finest at that time!

My son 11 asked me to get him a skateboard. I had an old one that my cousin Mark Monk Hubbard (RIP) gave me for Christmas a long time ago. It hangs on the wall now but I still had the trucks and wheels. So today we went to a skate shop and got him set up and I was like I should get one. I haven't skated in 30 years. So I looked at the old school decks and the only one that felt good was a Powell Peralta Clause Grabke. I liked how it was flat. I don't really like concave. I was telling my son on the way home I would have to look this guy up because I didn't know the name. I thought probably a recent younger pro rider. Boy was I wrong! He is 7 years older than me. So I obviously picked the right board. Starting to skate again at 50. Wish me luck!

I wish Powell would reissue the Lance Mountain family deck or Lance Conklin first pro deck. My two favorite decks from the early 90s. I currently have the Frankie Hill and Vallely reissues and I love them. I could never get used to the popsicles!

Wow I never knew this story. I always remember the Santa Cruz boards. I lived in Claus’s home town from 87 to 91 as my father was in the British Airforce and actually got to skate both with Claus in the streets with some local guys plus on the half pipe just outside the town in an old barn. Great memories.

I wish I still had the wallet you signed for me back in 88/89 at the NEC Birmingham UK. great to meet you back then. I remember the pink helmet. You are a legend. good times. I am still skating :)

It’s crazy that Bucky does not have any reissues yet. He was such a major part of Powell. Hint, hint, wink, wink 😉

I still got mine from back in the days! The one with the awesome Dali design. Broken, but it fits perfect between all the other decks that I've fucked up. In total there are 52 boards, but I was never a pro after all.^^

I wish Powell would re-issue the Frankie Hill , Van Goghs "Ear" board , was always a my favorite board of all time and even had one i had Morrissey sign back in the day ....
@travispassmore70935 жыл бұрын
I don't think Powell was involved with it, but Frankie was selling them for a while. there's some on ebay still. Most you'll find are signed as well. I always loved the ear board as well.
