Saw her in Portland. She was so funny that you cant remember her jokes when you try to tell someone the next day. "She did this joke .... something about a cat and a light bulb.... Cant remember it... but it was really funny!" GO SEE HER! Your sides hurt the next day due to laughing so hard.

Sometimes Maria Bamford hits a little to close to home, but she's definitely hilarious. I just mean that her comedy feels a little... judgmental, like she's laughing down at these types of characters, still funny though.

I don't think this seems judgmental at all. It's the most gentle parody in the world - it's basically just a concept parody, she hardly goes after the types of people who make these videos at all. And why would she? They're teenage girls. She just uses their videos as a springboard to this parody where 99% of the humor is at her own expense or entirely in her world.

As an aspiring YA writer your stance on Young Adult fiction offends me. Not all YA is bullshit paranormal romance novels. Try some John Green. His work is more intelligent than most adult novels I've ever read. You can't judge an entire genre of work by its weakest link.
