I mentioned it during the live stream, but it's worth mentioning here. I have an older power bank, a Halo brand, that has the standard AC plug outlet and it's such a great feature to have. It makes dealing with power outages so much easier being able to plug in a lamp with an LED bulb to at least have enough light to be able to move around and function in a way that's better than with flashlights. I had to deal with a couple of significant nighttime power outages in recent years, so that is definitely a feature I like.

I think I would be more of a fan of using DC to DC instead of having DC to AC, then back to DC with the power adapter of the device.

I've been using an AC inverter attachment by Milwaukee that snaps on top of any of their M18 batteries for these sorts of tasks but I agree this is a better way to go because of the form factor. Thanks Lon!

you figure it out? i have tried 2 different ones and neither will actually charge. i have tried 4 or 5 different chargers cables mixed and matched and from a basic 2 amp usb-a to c cable which does nothing to a 240watt usb 3 pd charger.

This is so creepy because LITERALLY YESTERDAY I randomly said to myself "I want a slim, high-capacity power bank with an ac outlet" When I looked I didn't completely trust any of the options except for the Omni 20+. It's great to see another option I trust

It's designed to be well within the confines of airline travel. For my real world usage I would atleast need a minimum of two of these for 174watts. Have a decently sized solar panel aswell for outdoor away from wall charging.

Provided they are within the power requirements it'll drive the lights. How long will depend on what power the lights are drawing.

Great video as always Lon. I’m a little unclear about the battery chemistry though. Ideally it’s LiFePO4 but again not sure what it uses. Some battles the FAA won’t allow on flights so it’s good to know. It looks like a nice bit of kit either way.

Anker is blacklisted for me, at least until they release a real statement about the eufy security/privacy issue. Short: it was uploading pictures UNENCRYPTED to "the cloud" even they said the data is stored only locally - as far as I understood. There is a statement on the eufy site but that sounds for me like marketing BS and is not addressing the issues. I was a big fan of Anker and have some products from then (chargers, powerbanks) and I'm not sure if I will ever trust them again unless they make a real statement and do some drastic actions. That is nothing a sneaker admin did wrong, that is not excusable. LTT stopped using them as sponsor, at least that what I saw last - not sure if there was an update on that, not a regular viewer anymore.

You would be well advised to check out opinions other than Linus Techtips. Especially the bit about thumbnails. Not only do other brands do the same thing, but the claim that these URLs can be guessed is utterly false - at least not within your lifetime and not without somehow defeating the rate limits first. The one thing that Eufy did f up was them advertising that everything works completely locally when it didn't. I understand the new base station v3 fixes this, but that doesn't really help v2 owners. Eufy had a severe privacy incident in the past, which was REALLY bad (you could view random people's cameras!). It only lasted 2 hours but their response was lackluster. I did not see Linus call for boycotts back then. So again: I'm not saying Eufy did no wrong. They did. But the thumbnail issue... well you should look a bit deeper than Linus does.
@Orangematz Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I completely agree with this. I wonder what Lon's take is on this.
@notlocalhorst Жыл бұрын
@@ToumalRakesh actually i found the video from Linus after I heard about the issue somewhere else first. I stopped watching LTT some time ago but wondered that they spoke about it. About the issues, it seem not - as far I understood - not that difficult and it is not a "lifetime" guessing game. But I might be wrong here. What seems to be fact is: data uploaded when they said it will not and unencrypted. It seems they also lied to the verge that it is not possible to connect (externally) via VLC to the cameras.
