For performance purposes, will it not be preferable to add the date, year, month, month number etc from the power query instead of using measures?

Calendarauto isn't working for me. it picks up the date from 1899. I wonder why? Can you explain how to fix it so that it scans the date column of the data

I would suggest small change , Instead of using previous Month Dax Function, can we use Date add Function which will shift the dates by one Month provide accurate results, Please do check and confirm

Both will return same thing . The difference is just that Dateadd can go back by your specified numbers of month, days, quarter or years but previous Month will only shift back by one year. Hope this answers your questions?

Hi. This is a great video. I have a call center data set which i am working on now. But i have issues creating the Calendar table. I followed the process you did from the video. But whenever i use the DAX formula "CALENDARAUTO()", the date it gives is not the same date as in the dataset. i have crosschecked the datatype several times, and ensured that it is correct. But yet, the error still remains. What could be the issue?

@@datalab365 It has just one date column. Whenever i type "CALENDARAUTO()", it rather produces the default Power bi date, rather than the the data from the date column.
