While this is not something I'd use in real life yet, it's clear what's already possible is truly astounding and only a matter of months rather than years until this type of functionality is core to the way we work.

@@AndyHart1204 - Yes, my understanding is it will be a limited rollout so they can learn from users to work out the bugs. Security of data is the main concern, I hear. Once it gets out there in full force, white collar work will be forever changed. Scary and yet exciting - sort of feels like we’re waiting in line to go on a new roller coaster ride.

One major problem with ChatGPT is that you have to load your data in there to get that analysis which is not something most companies allow. Until private instances of GPT are available, this will just be something cool to mess around with and learn but you won't be doing analysis with actual company data.

Is there a way to overlay you company data with keys or data in similar format but not the actual data and will the GPT4 code be able to output code that can be pasted into the Power Query Advanced Editor or similar?

Yep it could potentially do that. I’ve used GPT4 multiple times to create Power Query code.

I don't see it as a problem at all, cause if it must analyze your data than must read on somewhere...isn't it??? You must be careful on what data you give to it

This is impressive! This August, I am going to try ChatGPT-4 myself to see it with my own eyes. In the next video, it would be great to se how to integrate the code in Python with PowerBI, just an idea...

You can use zip file if the document is more than one. the full version of this not limited to only using the Python language.

This is what I envisioned when I ventured into Powe query and low code dev. I can get the program to do what I know it can with what I provide, without having to know how it does it. Manage instead of manual! Very cool and more efficient....but as with all ai stuff if you don't have the experience to truth the output then you are in dangerous territory....like the horror stories about rogue excel files that give bad data.

Not disappear but work quicker, get insights faster. You still need to be able to check, verify and interpret. But these tools will massively boost the productivity of those that can use them well

Yep, there’s no avoiding having to learn the core principals so that you can validate and amend the code that GPT4 produces. It can certainly help you write DAX quicker and provide options for you to assess rather than come up with the thoughts yourself. I’m imagining that within a few years Co-pilot in Power BI will be amazing at helping us with DAX, M, and visual choices.

How would you then get this into a PBIX file for use in Power BI. Is the future that code interpreter will be inside Power BI or some sort of plug-in?

This particular code is Python so there may be a way of using Fabric to actually make this re-usable. Yes I think the future will ultimately involve this type of thing living inside Power BI

Have you tried asking ChatGPT to provide the DAX formulas for this same analysis

DAX couldn’t do this. You’d need to transform the data with Power Query, build a data model and then write 2 simple DAX Sum measures and then build the visuals.
