Yes! Finally! I've been waiting for these videos! I cannot wait to see your reaction the first time you try it out. Power commanders are such a big part of the motorcycle world and I love your content and insight so it's very exciting to see your true opinions of the matter once you have actual experience with it! Keep up the good work CC, looking forward to the next one!

FYI - Some of you may have seen a video I did in the past where I was not sold on getting a Power Commander. The reason I had that opinion at the time was because of some research I did where a few people had some trouble with their PC, the PC died and their bike would start. It wasn't a mass problem, just a few occurrences . Also, I said that it will reduce your fuel efficiency a little bit. I felt it wasn't worth it at the time to get a PC, HOWEVER, some viewers said I had no experience with a PC and that I should try it out SO I took their advice and will experience a power commander and share that experience with you. I will tell you if it improves performance and if it will reduce fuel efficiency. So STAY TUNED!

So, how did it go? Did it reduce fuel efficiency? Did you get some power gains? I'm in the process of installing the PC3 in my WR250R, but kind of second-guessing myself still.

Friend, a question about the CFKMOTO NK250, is that engine carried by another motorcycle model or another brand, for example Honda or Kawasaki? I have an NK250 and I want to know in case I ever have to buy spare parts for the internal part of the engine. I want to know what scanner, brand and model they recommend me to buy and be able to test the CFMOTO brand and also if by chance they know the brand and model of any programmable motor control unit to install it on my NK250. I would appreciate the information.

Just wondering if anyone know where i can get a fuel map for my wr. Mods done to mine -FMF Q4 slip on -Power Commander FC -AIS removed thankyou @cyclecruza for the diy vid -Exhuast servo motor DIY mod similar to servo eliminator from 12oclocklabs -14/49 sprocket combo Basically stock air filter and stock exhaust header. I tried maps from dynojet website but nothing seems to be working properly with my current setup and i can't find any map that fits an fmf slip on only.

@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 8 жыл бұрын
+raymon760 I was referring to the flapper air box mod, basically removing the mechanisms that make the air box flap and then screw down the flapper so air is always going into the air box. I talked to a guy who has two wr250r's and he did the flapper mod on one bike and the other he didn't and he said there isn't much of a noticeable difference in performance.

Just read an article yesterday. Apparently the Autotune from Dynojet is seriously dope when used together with the Power Commander. Autotune creates an engine mapping totally automatically and is actually quite perfect at doing so. So no matter what exhaust you have on your bike or whatever you changed on your bike, the Autotune will create a very custom mapping just for you. Yeah, it's kinda pricy but apparently it's really worth the price. The default mappings that the Power Commander has are quite good but obviously every bike is slightly different. So that default mapping can only be "perfect" to a certain degree. And if you change some things around on your bike then yeah, there won't be a default mapping that suits you. So Autotune sounds dope in that regard. Would love to see a review if you dare spending that money :P
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 8 жыл бұрын
+lifehacker123 From my research, some people liked the auto tune and some people didn't. Some people said just get a dyno tune. I'll look into it more and make a decision.
@lifehacker123
@lifehacker123 8 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza Well the article I read was about some Kawasaki 1200 and it really worked its magic there. They changed the exhaust, removed some throttle (or choke - no clue what it's called in english) and put another air filter in. That's way too many changes for the standard settings of the PC. And the Autotune turned the power curve from a bumpy mess full of holes into a nice round curve. Maybe I'll find the article again.

I put an Autotune on my XT660Z Tènèrè after fitting a Powercomander V. It made it a lot better. You have perfect tune regardless of atmospheric pressure changes due to weather and altitude variations.

Hi CycleCruza i have the same PCV in my wr250r , my maps only show five gears and i noticed yours does as well ... Whats with that ? our bikes are six gear bikes !!! have you contacted DynoJet to see what they say about it ?
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 8 жыл бұрын
+ausforce1 I never noticed that. I'm sure they know what their doing, this Wr250r has been out since 2008, somebody must have said something. lol How does your bike ride?
@ausforce1
@ausforce1 8 жыл бұрын
Rides great for most of the power band , i have the same mods as you megabomb Q4 , PCV i have opened up the airbox , But be careful mate the intake noise is horrid now :(. To be honest it should be dynotuned to get the most out of the PCV. Best Bike in the world though :) i love it , so fun. Honestly CycleCruza i think its a defect and there is no mapping for 6th gear !!! i read about a guy who had to send his back to Dynojet to reflash because of this fault :( If i can find the guys webpage i will send you the link ... He is a very famous wr250r modifier.
@ausforce1
@ausforce1 8 жыл бұрын
Here is the guys website with the issue about no 6th gear map. He is like the god of WR250R mods lol www.rickramsey.net/WR250Rtuning.htm Here is exert from his page its down in the (Speed and gear calibrations) section ... "But one thing was missing; none of the maps was set up for six gears. I called DynoJet tech support and the tech sent me a 6-speed map file via email. It was time to load this map file into the PCV on the bike, which I did with no problems." I haven't called them yet but i think we both should hey cause it cost a lot of money for me to import my PCV to Tasmania.

+everss02 I'm going to test ride it first and see how I like it. If I like it I might skip the dyno tune. One guy I talked to had a dyno tune and said it didn't make much of a difference. We only have two centers nearby and they are backed up and said my bike would sit for a couple weeks before they could get to it, I said screw that my bike is not sitting nowhere for two weeks except my garage. lol

Hey +CycleCruza, Is it a good thing to put the PCV right against the battery? Long term wise, we all know that batteries can get hot sometimes, so might it not affect your PCV later on?
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 8 жыл бұрын
+Chad I've never had an issue with a motorcycle battery ever except leaving my GPS on and running my battery down once on my cbr1000rr. A guy I know put his PC on the battery and has been running it for years with no problems. From my understanding, batteries only get hot when charging them rapidly. They shouldn't get hot under normal operation.

Can you post a video about aftermarket exhaust on liter bikes in California. I'm told they are illegal and no service dept. will install. Any thoughts on what cycle Cruza would do in this situation? Thanks bro! Keep up the awesome info!!!
@ababbit7461

+blueleague I live in CA. Both my Harleys and my Honda have aftermarket exhaust installed by dealers. HD will put on Screaming Eagle aftermarket stuff "for use on race tracks only" on your bike and it will not void the warranty! Shops will put them on and your receipt will say, "Not for highway use, for track use only" as a legal disclaimer. Poor cats, they get skinned all different ways - there is always more than one way to skin a cat or get around government "tax" oh I mean regulations..... The question you should ask yourself is, "Will a cop give me a ticket for an aftermarket exhaust in CA?" Answer - dependents on which side of the bed he got up from today!!! And as they say, "it is only money" and that is the American way.....
@blueleague2377
@blueleague2377 8 жыл бұрын
+A Babbit I'm I. SF not LA . They told me in SF no one is allowed to mod an exhaust. However, like you said, they told me it won't void my warranty if I did have my exhaust modified. As far as police.... In SF the PD dept. is only after criminals with guns. You can basically smoke pot right in front of PD. As long as no guns are present. I don't think they have time for loud exhaust. Especially in SF. 💯💯💯
@UhuruFrontier
@UhuruFrontier 8 жыл бұрын
+blueleague Well, that is just like CA; to outlaw after market exhaust because they can't control the air pollution. The problem I see is when guys put on after market exhaust, they remove the CA emissions catalytic converter as well. That is where they get into problems with the law.

You did a good job and it was informative. You don't need experience placing those power commanders on a bike, you do well with your "thinking vlogs." Kind of like understanding how a 747 jet works. You only need to know which seat to sit in, not how it is built or how the jet turbins work... Keep up the great vids on riding, I get a rush from your "grip it and rip it" throttle on that CBR1000 "double R" bike.

CycleCuza, Do not do the performance mods. Its not worth it buddy. A 1/4 horse power here and a 1/4 horse power there. It's not worth it man. And remember, your bike still has warranty, right up till you do that stupid air flapper mod that no one thinks does much of anything! Spend the cash on a 48 tooth sprocket, "moose"skid plate, Zeta hand guards with integrated signals, heated hand grips, tail tidy kit and some better mirrors or whatever other fun stuff. Unless your going to put the big bore kit on this, ( $1000.00 ) then forget the rest of that shit. Just enjoy what she has to offer. I have the wr and have done a whole lot of research on this! +Ralph Bundersnatch People said I had no experience with a power commander so I took my viewer's advice and will try it for myself and let you all know. That video you are referring to I was just sharing some research I did on a few incidents people had with PC's. It wasn't a mass problem, just a few incidents that concerned me at the time.

Awh, welcome to the world of Harley Davidson. Here is how it goes. Buy HD, add chrome, add pipes, add power commander, add Fuzzy Dice on rear view mirrors and add little bell down low for gremlins. That is why I buy used. The initial owner does all the mods and then keeps the Fuzzy Dice and little bell (to ward off gremlins - no not the cars, but little critters on the roadways) when he sells the bike for the "latest and greatest HD." So, CC, you are now venturing into Harleydom with pipe and power commander mods. I am sure there are some Fuzzy Dice and little bells out there for your WR... We Americans are so spoiled. We must have more power and different sounds on our "under engineered" OEM bikes.... ha,ha..

+A Babbit The main reason I'm doing all of these mods is to share the experience with my viewers. As you see with my cbr1000rr I usually do very little modding. However, I'm curious to see if all of this will improve the low end power. This is a bike I will keep for a long time, this a great bug out bike.

CC, improving that CBR - 1000 "Double R" as you always say (I like the way you say it), is like trying to improve an F14 Tomcat with some SR-71 engines strapped on for good measure - as the Koreans would say to me, "NO CAN DO GI!" Your vid was informative and well done, but I like your subjects on riding and "thinking about xx" things... The WR? It is a weak little small cc bike that is meant to be slow (compared to the SR-71 or the "Double R") so you kind of wasted money on a mod that is for Harleys (slow to go is needed on OEM factory direct Harleys). Now get back to that "grip it and rip it" throttle pinning with the big smile and yell on that CBR ---- 1000 "Double R" for us.

A Babbit Actually, the WR250r opens up with a PC + full exhaust and removal of the emissions crap. You need mods on the little bike, modding a big bike is a waste imo, you can only use so much power on the street and the liter bike is overkill on the street as it is.

CC, yes, but having a liter bike on the street is like a woman saying that "size does not matter." You know that CBR ---- 1000 "Double R" might be overkill, but it puts a smile on your face and a thrill in your soul..... Keep up the great work brother.

It's not that the power commander fails to be programmable on a Mac, it's that the Mac fails to be useful. ;)
