Excellent instruction Aimee. The motion is effortless but that will achieve maximum control and distance due to proper balance and letting the club swing freely on plane and in partnership with the body.

Beginner here. Awesome advice, im going to try it now. The most productive drill i have done in my very short time playing, is recording myself at the range. 3-5 swings, then go check the tape. 3-5 more & take another look. Until i was making progress & feeling more comfortable. Then maybe 10 swings & go take a look. It may seem vain & obnoxious but who cares. We just want to hit the ball a country mile & as straight as the crow fly. Cute fit too.

Hi Aimee I should of payed more attention to your lead thigh 3 years ago. I now know how important my own lead thigh is to my entire swinging of the club. Simply put the lateral muscles of the lead side rotates downward and inward to the top of my swing and on my transitional downswing the lateral muscles of my lead thigh must then rotate outward straightening out my lead leg while I simply allow my hands and arms to fall into the slot and swing the club head through the ball to a perfect finish every single time. At 73 you woke up the champion in me! ❤️👍😃👌

Very helpful lesson Aimee. I use a lot of upper body for downswing that causes over the top, fat and thin shots. After watching this video now I am using my thigh a lot to swing the club. I hardly chunk my shots now. Thanks Aimee

Ng Sam absolutely! I should have payed better attention to her lead thigh 4 years ago. Today focusing on my lead thigh during my swing has never been better. Cheers

Sorry to hear that you retired from the tour due to injuries before. Maybe you should give it a shot still. After all, you are very young. I think that you are in southern California, but we are not. Perhaps next summer if we visit southern California I can book your sessions or junior camps for my 8-year-old for a week or two. Keep up the good works, and thank you for sharing your experiences!

Been following for 3 years now.. my first Aimee golf video! Wow, who else breaks it down so good? Initiate proper down swing uncoil sequence with the lower body: Too much arm and u cast, too much upper body & u come over the top.. boom.. btw are men more prone to rely on upper body to generate swing speed than women due to physiology?

Thank you Aimee for posting these golf swing lessons - they are by far some of the best on KZbin! You explain basic swing concepts very well, add many practical checkpoints and drills and point out the "wrong ways" too. I use your videos to reinforce what my local pro tries to get me to do. Would you be able to use a super slow motion video of your iron and driver swings at full speed? Thx!

Thank you Aimee! I have had a problem posting on the left foot ever since I starting golfing. I can hit an occasional drive around 295 to 300 but my swing looks horrible. After I hit the ball both of my legs are flat, then after contact my body shifts to the left. I have tried everything to fix this but I will definitely try these tips. Thanks again.

As for myself, to get the feeling of using my legs and hips to start the downswing, I feel as though the club and my arms are still 'up' and 'back' (essentially the position at the top of the swing, not 'dropping down'). The actual 'letting the club and arms drop' is actually caused by the legs and hips, not by the arms in effect. Love that wall tip btw.

Always good to go back over the essentials/basics. great lesson; shorts are stunning, like the rest of you and your lessons. Is it possible to slo mo some of the key move like transition, if there is a backdrop reference of vertical lines showing your lateral movement, and overhead to help understand the rotation please.

Hi Aimee. Can you emphasis more about initiating using lower part? Does the arm travel just based on the pull from lower part OR once the lower part fires, a player need to add speed to the hand as well? And what is the snap?
@ufukgoksu98513 жыл бұрын
Hi Aimee, really great video. Thank you so much. I am doing lately following downswing initiation and would like to known your opinion since this will really help my golf. I rotate my trailing right hip and thus move right thigh and knee towards the left thigh ( the way you do but I have to get closer). I feel I get good results. I feel I released my right side as well. When I start with my lead side, I do not so much touching right thigh with the left thigh .What do you think? Thank you so much.

Another great, helpful video by a gifted teacher. One question: You don't say anything about initiating the downswing by shifting the left knee to the left as the first move, followed by shifting the hips laterally to the left? Does this mean that you do not subscribe to this method of initiating the downswing? Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. PS: A slow-motion video of you executing the proper sequence of the transition to the downswing would be very helpful. It would show very clearly, the correct way of initiating the downswing.
@GolfWithAimee9 жыл бұрын
+Gerald Tan Thanks Gerald. I have done similar drills using the left knee to initiate the lateral movement. However, there are too many amateurs using the left knee the wrong way.. so I didn't want to emphasize on that move that's all!
