Excellent tutorial! I’ve been having malfunctioning mirrors for a few years on my 2003 Navigator, so this video inspired me to order the identical ones you used (waiting for shipment to arrive). In the meantime, you used the new black covers (which looks great) so you didn’t demonstrate the procedure for removal of the original white covers from the old mirrors. Before I start prying away to remove without breaking any of the 4 clips, just trying to confirm if one side should pop out first or both ends simultaneously. Thanks for the help!

Thank you for your kind words. You will see the locking tabs in the black covers and that will be your guide to deal with the originals. You will probably have to pop off the mirror glass to access. You will see. Thank you for watching and sharing ❤️. Please let me know how it goes.

@@htnowproRoger that. I’ll wait until I remove the old ones to see how to safely extract the old covers in one piece from the mirror side. One more question - does removal of the three 11 mm nuts require a deep socket, or does standard work? I don’t have a deep 11 mm so just preparing if i need to buy one. Thanks.

@John Philipps yes you will need a deep socket. Regarding the cover retainers, you may have to disassemble the , mirror glass and the mirror motor to access the lower tabs if memory serves me right.

@@htnowpro OK, bought the deep socket and received the new mirrors. One last question before I start - I didn’t see when you reattached the water/rain shield inside the door before installing the door panel. What type of adhesive did you use to get it to adhere to the door? I assume the “stickum” doesn’t stick again, but maybe it does. Thanks again.

@@johnphilipps7866 The stickum usually will re apply. Not like new of course.

Did you have to replace the entire mirror assembly? Was there no way just to replace the power fold motor?
@htnowpro3 жыл бұрын
You can purchase the mirror adjustment motors but not the power fold motors. $232.81 for both is a great price as far as I am concerned. Heated, power fold/ puddle lamps and turn lamps. Lamps seem a little on the dim side 🤔.

Hi, when you folded both the side view mirror inward, does the key need to be in the ignition? If so, is it on the On or Acc position? Advance Thanks 🙏🏻

Hello. No, the key doesn't have to be on. Have a great weekend.
