Hi Kimmy, hope today is a better day from yesterday. Question: are you not doing the zone card? And zone cleaning? Is there a reason you decided not to stick with the zone routines? Can I offer a bit of advice that helps me? Immediately put the item away. It takes a few seconds but is a game changer for sure. I immediately hang my clothes. Immediately hand wash an item, dry it, and put it away when I am prepping a meal. Immediately put the dirty item in the hamper. Trash in a trash can. Your kids will see this and pick up on it as well!

Well done, you did great. When I saw the title of the video I thought it meant cleaning as in hoovering & dusting etc, then I realised you actually meant tidying. Loved this. I wish I could be like that. I'm more of a perfectionist like My Daddy. When I start on something, that has to be all done right then and perfect and that's how my house has gotten into a big mess, because it's so overwhelming😒😣 I really really have to work on this. Thanks for sharing. Blessings from bama! P.s. I have got to try that timer thing and see how it goes with me 😬
@Romans828girl5 жыл бұрын
I understand. Perfectionism can be difficult to deal with. Sometimes we end up living like we have no standards, when in reality, the problem is that our standards are too HIGH. One thing that has helped me is to shift my focus. Instead of focusing on doing the TASK perfectly, I focus on doing the TIME perfectly. It's not all about folding the load of laundry or whatever; it's about getting as many things done as possible before the timer dings. The way to do the time perfectly, rather than the task, is to move fast and make as much impact in the space as possible as I race the clock. At the end, when the timer dings, if I've consistently moved fast the whole time, and all of the movements have been productive...I've done the time perfectly, regardless of whether or not the tasks are done to my standards. I often can't help myself afterwards, and I have to go back and straighten stacks, make sure drawers that I put stuff in are orderly, or whatever...but I can afford to indulge myself then, because I have a cleaner space to move around in. As time goes by, I am more and more able to just revel in the sense of accomplishment from what I've gotten done, and if I do more after the timer dings, it might even be more of the high-impact stuff instead of perfecting the things that I got done while racing the clock.

It does amaze me when I time myself how much can get done in a short amount of time! Even that last 3 min was significant! Also, don’t you find the hardest part is starting? Once you start you want to finish!

No judgement..I've been there myself..so here's some advice: if anyone were to see that mess just gasp, clutch your chest and say, "Oh no..we've been burglarized!" then laugh it off. If anyone judges you, let them know they're welcome to clean it up for you. 😄
