U have summarize it nicely my king TITH first was given to the Levites ..Numbers 18v 21...There are only two types of TITH .. Leviticus 27..v 30..33...MALAKHI have only 4 chapters ..God is rebuking the Levites

"At the end of EVERY THREE YEARS, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns" - Deuteronomy 14:28 If tithe is to be given according to the law, how come pastors want it WEEKLY? I maintain that tithing is no longer relevant BUT freewill giving without a prescriptive amount is still expected for all believers in order to support the work of the ministry but nowhere do Jesus and apostles demand a percentage every month.

The New Testament does not teach a doctrine of tithing (i.e., the mandatory giving of 10 percent of one’s income). Nor does Paul define what constitutes giving generously. He does not even provide a target number or general guidelines. The only rule is to give freely and generously as an expression of our continuing trust in God’s grace (9:5-8). Paul simply assumes that believers will give all they can to meet as many needs as they can in order to glorify God as much as they can.

Given is giving the facts not a continuation doctrine of Charlamagne (Emperor of Rome) which wss adopted in most churches, tithe was a form of tax! And when Christ died all that changed, While Jesus was alive he was living under the old testament law! I hv been observing that as long as a befundisi bethu teaches tithing subjectively and not dig deeper to the whole truth. Bcz there's an element of threat when it comes to calling tithes. (in other churches kude kuthwe if usemva in tithing u will not be burried when u die) Therefore abantu will not understand what tithing is. On the other hand Ps Given is objective about it with a background of what the scripture says. Money is a touchy issue specifically in the church.
