Overall internal parts are high grade, its assembly is poor though. Better ones like this amzn.to/2LMbz9S by Power TechOn have modern all automated construction. I have installed numerous Power TechOn on solar jobs without any fails, but trying a new brand got me this PUGU inverter in the video. PowerTechOn is the same as a VertaMax product, at a lower cost. China sells WHAT WE ASK FOR. They produce what corporations ask for. The cost cutting and Shortcuts are done on the side of the corporations. like Harbor freight or whomever… They go to China and specifically ask them to make them a cheaper product. They are at least two years ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to industrial equipment and electronics. Just like any country… They make junk and they make good stuff. And a lot of in between. Every country has their flaws, no country is without major problems. But after spending the better part of two decades importing and working with the Chinese… their products span all ranges of the quality spectrum. This coming from a blue blooded and proud Tennessean by the way. I enjoyed your two part series on these! Im still learning electronics troubleshooting. If I’m not woodworking… then I’m elbows deep in some weird industrial electronic device…prodding, poking, and PRAYING! Thanks again for the content!

Hello, 3000 watt solartronics full sinus inverter fault light is on. When the inverter is turned on, a relay tripping sound is heard, then the fault light is on, what do you think could be the problem?
@PrepperMountainSolutions2 жыл бұрын
Did you over exceed it's voltage capability in either low or high settings. That behavior is similar to a supply MOSFET failure.

@@PrepperMountainSolutions inverter peak 6000 watts, continuous power 3000 watts. only refrigerator connected peak 650 watts then 270 watts. Did you mention battery voltage level exactly. I noticed that mppt charge controller sometimes fills the battery at 14.80 15 volts momentarily.
@PrepperMountainSolutions2 жыл бұрын
Possibly you've overvolt the inverter, 15 is fault point. But I'd suggest opening it up and looking for damage. Let me know what you find.

@@PrepperMountainSolutions I don't have the inverter with me. I will be with you in a week.I didn't see any noticeable faults.I will look at the values of the mosfets and diodes with a multimeter.Of course I will share the result with you.Thanks for your interest.

It's prohibited in the United States to sell an item that has tamper stickers or deny warranty of any product, because the user took it apart to examine the internals. In fact it's supposedly against the law for any U S manufacturer to apply tamper seals to any product intended for sale in the U S. I looked it up somewhere about a year ago and it's true. You can actually complain to a Consumer product department agency about tamper seal.

mine puts out 145 volts how do I get it down to 120-115
@staym9252 жыл бұрын
Turn the pot down, it's a box looking thing with a flat head slot in center, turn either way, turn it till it brings voltage down.

I have power inverter that went bad, I suspect mosfets. Theres 4 of them IRFP260M. Do any other letters on it matter or not? I have P514J? Cant find exact mosfets, only IRFP260M part, other letters dont match. What else could be wrong with it if not mosfets. It powers on, shows voltage, says for a sec it uses 500w, then goes to 0. Cant power anything. I checked with multimeter the outlet, voltage is all over the place. No blown fuses. Maybe transistors? Nothing blown. Caps all good, connection to bluetooth shows all good. No alarms.

Its started working again. I took it home, did some looking, couldnt find anything. Then plugged to my power supply and it worked. Could it have reset itself after I unplugged it? Though the power output is fluctuating, but after watching other channels they've mentioned that not every multimeter is suitable for checking out put voltage on inverters. He used exactly one I have, cheap one from harbor freight, which showed 80v on his inverter... I appreciate your response anyway. Real test will be on Monday

I bet it's not a hard fix what would u charge me to fix it and test it? I can bring it to you to look at if you think u can fix this. The unit is out of warranty 600.00 unit. This has been a beast for 2 years always kicked ass. And the top positive terminal also broke and I would love to have fixed too. What can u do?

Do you know if the hard start dometic AC kits work good? Mine surges at 3,100 watts 2 or 3 seconds then draws 1,336 watts continously if I install one of those kits will this other inverter start this 15000 btu AC okay for 6 hour run time with real good cooling system?

I think the main point that he’s trying to driveIs that they tossed safety out the window, with the wires touching that equals fire. Lower quality should not mean completely unsafe. It should mean cheaper parts or less features especially in something as fire hazardous as an inverter. Let alone I feel like the entire thing should be assembled.

Yea, China makes a lot of junk. The Russians build stuff like tanks, not pretty though. around 30 years ago I bought a turntable that was made in Russia. That was one of the best turntables I've ever had, built like a tank and almost as heavy.
