So, who is your top cinematic death in the series?
@davidsmyth4184 Жыл бұрын
IMO, Jesus hanging from a helicopter is right up there with cinematic deaths. However, this decision is not without controversy, as some people, not naming names, could tell it was a dummy.
@davidsmyth4184 Жыл бұрын
On a serious note though...... Ritchie " Manson Lamps" Aprile's death was cinematic glory. The look on Janice's face before she pulls the trigger & then the look on his face when she shoots him. Class.

Fat Dom was my favorite death. The nonviolent but very verbal tension leading up to him getting butchered was David Chase beating Quentin Tarantino at his own niche.

Thank you Bully. Great show. For me, the death of Vito, with Phil gripping the the bed, is right up there with the best of cinematic deaths. And Lt Vin putting on his badge before he took the header off the bridge. Ya can't beat a degenerate gambler with a badge, for drama.

Ade's death was pretty cinematic even if we dont see it. The tension, the lead up to the end. Watching her realize what was coming. It stayed with you.

I agree with you on Mikey Palmice, but for me his hits were even more cinematic! The Filone kid is the #1 cinematic death for me, but Mikey clipping Donnie over a joke is one of my favorite scenes ever.

Ya know, your absolutely right. Patsy is mega cool. In fairness, apart from his pool play, he sucked up the murder of his twin and got on with it, bided his time and ultimately, survived. Pretty cool.

Your number 2 referencing the likeness of John to Tony is something I never realized before
@mitchellmahurin346510 ай бұрын
Although not a death, mine is Cocos curb stomp. It showed the fraying of Tony's control over his rage. Plus watching Tony slowly realize the disrespect from the New York guys when Meadow tells the story. It pays off really well when he finally lets Coco have it, even though it seals his fate with Butchie

Phil Leotardo, Bobby Baccala, and Vito were the most cinematic. In order to be cinematic, it needs to generate a buzz and have lots of people talking about it after the fact. The head getting ran over, a gangster getting killed in a toy train store and crashing through a train set, and where the pool cue was left are the types of deaths that will have people talking about them/telling stories about them for a long time. There has to be something salacious and public about a death in order for it to be cinematic. Like when Feech told the story about watching whatever mobster beat a longshoreman to death over a corner table in a restaurant. Nobody’s going to be telling stories years later about someone getting shot on a boat or out in the woods.

Caesar's death doesn't end the play. It's in Act 3, Scene 1. Et tu, Brute, and all that. The best stuff, anyway, is at the funeral and reading of the will.

Mustang Sally is my vote! How do you not defeat an old man with cancer? Even with your ear shot off!
@ShiddyKong Жыл бұрын
My genuine vote for most cinematic was Tony's. If you got to watch that scene relatively soon after season 1 finale, that serenity and family bonding over dinner was the light at the end of the tunnel for the Sopranos. Still, something is seriously off about the diner scene as opposed to when they were at Vesuvio. Not to mention, Tony's death gets better with every rewatch because of the cookie crumbs like "You probably don't even hear it when it happens, right?" (Bobby) and that 3 O'Clock thing that Chris Moltisanti said while in critical condition.
