if u really had full control over your emotions would you allow yourself to suffer from depression and anxiety? these are both choices, and this is coming from someone who has dealt with depression, anxiety, and suicide most of their life. just be aware that your thoughts, reactions, and actions are all your choice, whether it is a conscious choice or not is completely up to you.

When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. -Wendell Berry

Buddhism has clearly stated: "Hatred cannot destroy hatred, only compassion can destroy hatred" The reason why this world is constantly and endlessly at war like the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, is because the human mind is not stable and the inner strength and wisdom are shaken, so greed, anger, and ignorance easily drag them into the vortex of ego, I must win, I must destroy. Therefore, if each of us applies the Buddhist method of contemplating the breath, contemplating the present moment for each minute, then our inner strength and wisdom will be very different and the world will change
