Really ridiculous for gas stations to not have emergency generator. They have plenty of fuel to run them.

Awesome adventure you two. What a stormy day that was, if I remember correctly out at the coast where you guys were storm watching it topped at about 129k at its peak. Then it snowed 2 days after and I believe that’s about the time your school’s pipes burst. What a big start to 2024. And yes MC Hammer and Fleetwood Mac were pretty big when Jamie and myself were growing up.

On January 25, 2024 - January 29, 2024. I just got inspecting and repairing emergency lighting at a store in California. On Sunday February 4, 2024 a similar storm had hit California. Knocking out power up 500,000 electric customers through out the entire state. Including at the store. I just repaired the emergency lighting. I was happy I was able get a real power outage to inspect my own work. After all I had a fire inspection the next day. From the Fire Marshall. I did passed that part of inspection the next day with no problem.

Back when I lived in coastal BC, we would have these storms often and the power would go out every couple weeks. Eventually BC hydro just transitioned high-risk areas to underground power and then we rarely got any outages.

I know here in the US emergency lights have to be 90 minutes. Why 30 min in canada? 75 mph winds? That's pretty high. You still keeping the beard Nic? You look good with it
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
Still keeping it. 90 minutes is just excessive in my opinion 30 minutes is also excessive depending on the size of the building as it should not take you that long to evacuate if it's a small building.
@millenniumbryan10 ай бұрын
@nics-systems-electric I always thought the longer the better with emergency lighting. Who's to say than an emergency requiring evacuation is going to happen within the first 30 min or 90 min after an outage?
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
@@millenniumbryan longer definitely isn't hurting anything just isn't a requirement as your cost would get much higher

Does the schools have a radio box that the fire department monitors or the alarm company monitors
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
Fire alarm systems are monitored through the security system if it's an old install or if it's been brought up to a proper ULC listed install it will have a ULC listed fire alarm monitoring panel that will have two sources of communication to the monitoring company
