I think an animated series would do well. Do it in the style of Avatar or Voltron (Netflix version) and it would kick butt. They could even do an animated adaptation of the Hyperforce Rangers that way. Or Shattered Grid. Of course, I'd personally love to see live action, but if it's done well Animated could be awesome too, with a lot of room for things that just aren't feasible for live action budgets.

I'm all for this news because another TV reboot will only further push the franchise into obscurity. Now they can finally work towards making PR popular again by moving away from live action TV shows and movies and moving into animation. The only way to save this franchise is to do what Marvel and DC did to save their franchises in the 90s, create a new generation of fans with mature cartoons. All PR has to do is adapt the Boom! Studios comics in animation for a prestige streaming service like Netflix or Amazon and then in5-8 years, make some movies based on that animated series. The blue print for success is there for PR but it doesn't include another random reboot show or adapting Sentai or rushing another MMPR movie like in 2017. They have to go slowly, build a young fan base and grow with them.

For years now Power Rangers REALLY lives on through fanfilms and the community. The smartest thing for everyone involved would put the IP for sale and the community (aka someone or a group of the really involved fan-filmmakers, ex-Rangers...) buys it via Kickstarter. The toy licence could stay with Toymates for the time being, and the licence fee could furthermore finance the filmprojects. Power Rangers could be the first franchise completely in the hands of its fans. (Which, imho, it already is and was since a long time...)

For me they should do a Reboot of the franchise, do a first season with the Classic Power Rangers, but with new young and talented actors, in a serial format. While for the Movies use the actors from the Classic series, but do one every now and then and not things like the MCU.

There sitting on a Gold mind. Its not to complicated. Forget a movie, forget a reboot of the series, forget building a cinematic universe. They should make the Boom Studios comics into an animated show. The fans love the comics, there darker and focused on the Mighty morphin team. Anime has done this for years by adapting the mangas and most recently in animation, X-men 97. It has been more successful then Marvel’s live action TV shows. We’ve had the power rangers live action for a while and honestly it was the Boom Studio comics that made the Power Rangers popular again, not the new tv shows.

I can’t say that I’m happy. But I’m not really sad either. I haven’t watched since Dino Fury, which I understand is WAY longer than most Ranger fans. I will miss the show and am disappointed that younger kids will not get to grow up with it like us 90s kids did. I get that they were trying to tweak the show to cater to a modern audience and change things up. But it’s just not the same show. I tried to keep an open mind, and give it a chance, but it just wasn’t for me.

In all honesty, Just like Nolan's Dark Knight series, Power Rangers has seen itself live too long and went from hero to villain. The "nostalgia" thing has been beaten to a pulp, really amazing characters have been ignored or given the "cash grab" treatment, and the show itself; instead of trying to be itself ONLY, has instead tried to age itself with the years, and has tried to adapt itself to a woke fantasy world that really only panders to a small portion of the actual population. The kids don't care, the adult fans don't recognize the series anymore... It is just not relevant, and hasbro is clearly realizing this... just bury Power Rangers, PLEASE. As a fan who has been with Power Rangers since MMPR and Zeo, fell off during turbo, came back for PRIS, PRLG, PRLR, PRTF, and PRWF, fell off for PRNS, PRDT, then came back for PRSPD, PRMF, PROO, PRJF, PRRPM, and even PRS (PRSS) I can say this NOW isn't the "all time low" for power rangers... that's been the case for a long time after PRSS... Ah well, at least I have the DVD set of the first 20 years... It's an amazing set really, and I'll keep it forever! Power Rangers doesn't need a reboot, it needs to end or rest for a long time...

As much as I love power rangers, I also believe there is nothing wrong with letting a popular franchise die. Media preservation is important, of course. But we don't have to keep adding new content. As a person who grew up watching the original season and onward really til SPD, I’ve been drawn back a few times, mainly when the big veterans showed up and for major anniversaries. The first big disappointment was easily super mega force. By that point I had been dipping my feet into the super sentai shows and Gokaiger was EPIC. I saw and noted the fact that all or most of the crossovers in it were from series that had made their way into power rangers. But the decision to make the teams what became megaforce and Super Megaforce the same ppl meant we were screwed out some of the best of the 199 Super Sentai footage. And while the scenes with all the veteran rangers on their own were awesome, I cannot emphasize enough how calling every ranger ever to fight what boiled down to putties felt like a major insult. I’m SURE they could’ve brought in major villains as the suits were obviously still around with their appearances in the Gokaiger movie and the fact that they didn’t do the massive megazord scene was also a big slap in the face. Add to that the pathetic toys as you’ve mentioned and yeah. Honestly? I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver is what kept the franchise going at times and with his passing with no real big names to take his place? I hate saying it, but maybe it’s better to let the franchise go. Hasbro has said they aren’t a toy company anymore and I don’t wanna see the show go down woke road and die off in disgrace in the way that Star Wars and Doctor Who has been killing themselves. It may be time to let go. 30 years is a good run. Let it die with dignity. Not in disgrace.

would reboot mighty morphin with parts from the comic and the og show like the new green Ranger + the tec company 3 seasons (100 episodes or more) with Rita, Zedd and the Machine empire as villains also a special with Lord Drakkon make it a more mature (with darker themes) but also kids (like many cartoons do it) I personally want a Rpm remake with the same tone and having a diffrent ending or the Paleomax Rangers in it or/with a continuation beast morphers series (playing in the same world) which is having minor changes later a Kyruranger (new Space rangers) adaption with the 12 Rangers (with showing other planets having their own power rangers) and later defeating dark specter and helping the morhin masters

I would have it almost exclusively be a movie franchise. Make it an MCU style of story with first bringing back whoever is left of the original MMPR team and make it an Avengers 2012 type of thing while introducing new characters and plot points. Also, have Lord Zedd be the Thanos-type of villain.

Hey 6th Ranger, I was thinking because I love the Zeonizer so much, what if Supergirl used a custom Zeonizer not to get powers but simply to morph her suit on. It would make sense and answer the age old questions like how does she have her hero boots on underneath her high heels or how does she have tights on underneath bare legged legs when she just rips her shirt open to reveal her suit. Anyway I was thinking the activator with the gold piece could have the house of El aka S logo in gold and then the crystal which is usually red, could be like a 3 in one crystal of blue yellow and red all lighting up at the same time. She would just yell Supergirl power, kind of like how Jason would yell Gold Ranger power. And of course to get the suit off and back to normal clothes, she could just say Power down. Fever dream I want to happen is we retcon/alternate timeline Megaforce, having them start as Pirates who "borrow" abilities from the grid to fight off a full-scale invasion as most other rangers have been captured or otherwise defeated, eventually proving themselves to the Morphin Masters who become the source of the Goseiger arsenal (Goseiger being angels). Either animated show or game (preferably a warriors title) to avoid the usual restrictions that aren't budget.

Bad choice. Power Rangers was never a core Disney IP in the 1st place, or even Nickelodeon for that matter.

@@DaveGX Exactly. Despite there being a few great Disney era Power Rangers seasons, the company never wanted anything to do with the franchise. And Nickelodeon? Worst idea ever. All they care about is money, and only that yellow sponge provides the highest amount. Not to mention the fact that the first four years of the Nickelodeon era were terrible because of Jonathan Tzachor. Samurai was a copy-paste North American version of Shinkenger, and Megaforce wasn't even originally PLANNED to be adapted, but because of the stupid "super season" rule, Saban Brands had no choice but to do it, and put Gokaiger as the 21st PR season, which turned out to be a super mega letdown. The ONLY saving graces for both seasons of Megaforce, for me, are two of its Rangers (Gia and Robo Knight were my favorite characters) and the Jungle Fury tribute episode in SMF (seriously, that was handled really well, for the most part, especially with Casey's actor also being the writer for that episode). Netflix somehow doesn't wanna continue the franchise, so... Let's see if Amazon Studios can pull it off.

@@EntertainmentFan11 Honestly, every once in a while people mention Warner Bros. They might stand a fighting chance for either animation or live action reboot. Granted again, Power Rangers isn’t really a core IP of theirs. They tend to steer closely to DC. And Marvel? They used to be with Fox until Disney got their hands on BOTH! UGH….. WORST combination EVER! They’re ruining both Marvel AND Star Wars TV iterations!

Honestly, glad they cancelled it. Rebooting the shit again makes no fucking sense after the 2017 failure. And why would hasbro expect it to? Power rangers is not the phenomenon to children from this generation that it was to ours. The best thing they can do is to cater to the older fans who grew up with the original saban era. Give us more mature content, once and always was a greating starting point, just go from there. Show us what the other teams from that period are doing now, the space rangers, lost galaxy rangers lightspeed rescue, time force and more on the MMPR/ZEO/TURBO (PHASE ONE). I would watch that for sure. And we all know what hasbro's biggest source of income will be for this, THE TOYS. The kids of today may not buy them much, but i can damn sure guarantee you the people in their 30's who have decent jobs and are collectors will definitely buy whatever merchandise figures you put out from the OG saban era as long as it's good quality. Focus on the right market folks.

I have a strong fear that if Hasbro does anything with power rangers will end up focusing on MMPR and only MMPR in order to try and use Nostalgia. Even though there's a ton of people who's power rangers nostalgia isn't from that show. For example a lot of Power ranger fans who are in their 20s like myself would have grown up more with the likes of Time force, Wild Force or all of the Disney era teams.

Same! The general focus on catering to MMPR nostalgia in the post-Disney era is the biggest problem with the franchise imo Like bringing back Zedd in Dino/Cosmic Fury made no sense. Bringing back Bulk in Samurai Samurai and Megaforce just reusing the MMPR theme Making the 30th Anniversary episode just as an MMPR tribute instead of celebrating 30 years of Power Rangers I remember watching MMPR when it first aired, but I'm not nostalgic for it in the slightest cause there are so many seasons that are just so much better

Animation is the way to go.. We love seeing legacy rangers but let’s face it.. the suspension of disbelief is harder as the years pass for live action. I think there are more opportunities for more grand stories in animation.
