they shouldn't have made it absorb into base, they should've given us temporary SSG and have super focus on goku unlocking it on his own then maybe around the Goku Black arc he rages over Chichi and Goten's death and unlocks SSB (maybe that's still too fast, but having it unlocked due to rage just makes more sense than Goku doing it offscreen) then between this and the tournament arcs have Goku focus on training his reflexes to foreshadow UI being unlocked in ToP

Roshi made the same point in the manga, too. This could make foreshadowing UI (as in, a version of UI that focuses mainly on form and instinct over a literal power increase) more believable as an alternative to re-unlocking SSG again. Roshi, too, showed something akin to this in the manga and temporarily weaved around Jiren of all people - and Roshi's nowhere close to the other Z-Fighters in pure strength.

My only problem with Super Saiyan Blue is that doesn't really win any fights. You have Frieza ,who yes technically lost to blue, only lost AFTER the fact he drained his energy and destroyed the Earth. I suppose you could give the win to Gogeta but he doesn't finish off Broly because he got teleported away. It just feels like they shoulda done that form better instead of rushing.

Tbh the only thing i hate about blue is its introduction. Its the only transformation that didn’t made the fight feel special by letting the characters close a huge gap. Goku went blue at a time where he was still winning against final form Frieza, then Frieza went golden and only started losing because he didn’t train 2 more minutes probably to get used to the form. But aside from that i don’t mind it. I mean, Goku literally never won a fight in ssj form after the Namek arc, never won a fight in ssj2 or 3, in canon at least.

Uhh, im not gonna lie to you gang UI is fair game, as it was built up even before God or SSB was revealed. but ego? yeah nah that is a sell toys ass form. RoF was a bail out, and honestly, it wasnt really all that great. But to be fair, Blue is like, a filler form. to fill in the hole until Ui and Ego. Because to be honest, god wasnt going to cut it. it COULD have worked. But the power went from god level, to FUCKING ZAMASU way too quickly. I think we can all agree that power scaling has been broken for years, but SSG makes it that much worse. When RoF was about to come out there was a V-Jump article saying that Goku and Vegeta attained the power of SSG without transforming into it. It sounds cool and it makes sense for them to get stronger, but that means every person they fight in base is SSG level (Cabba, Hit, Frost.) and it makes it worse to be at that level and still stack everything else, along with still being able to go god. I'm not even sure what benefit they get from SSG at this point

Krillin is nowhere near god level. Roshi uses experience to win. 17&18 never trained before this point so I will admit that their sudden jump in power is bs but it's nothing new. Krillin got around 8.6 times stronger in one year at the beginning of z by doing the same training Goku did. Goku did the same training for 3X as long and only got around 1.6X stronger. So the scaling has always been bs.

Bro Krillin did not catch up to God level. Goku purposefully pressed Krillin in God to see how he would do against an overpowered opponent and he still lost but showed he can still be tactful. Same concept for the rest they were sparring to see how everybody would fair in a real fight and did will but not once was Goku in any real danger because they are not on his level, closest one is 17 but even then Goku still wins in a real fight based on strength, 17 just has all of the advantages of an android plus he's been off screen training.

No, you're completely correct on that one. People in 2024 just have been taking the fun out of crossplay/online pvp. And you can only have fun if you play online with freinds for the most part. But the game itself is GOTY and MAG material. The reason why games like black myth get glazed (dont get it twisted its fire) is because its single player. if it was online pvp and you had ppl breathing down your neck and using cheap techs, they'd drop the game too.

They’re not worried about the destructive scaling but the scaling in regard to how Goku/Vegeta compare to other characters. Krillin was and should never be on par and hanging with Goku in a fight whose base form is stronger than BOG SSG Goku. You fix this by not having Goku absorb SSG into his base. Then the broken scaling discussions aren’t there.

No lie, a modern day Tee of Might can work, but it has to be done right. Explaining Turles strength is actually done well in Xenoverse, where Elder Kai reveals that the fruit is actually meant to be eaten by gods. So the story could be that after (somehow) surviving Planet Vegeta's Destruction, Turles while travelling space stumbles upon the tree or someone who knows about it. He learns the tree's fruit is the fruit of the gods, and that makes him think back to when Beerus came to planet Vegeta. So Turles decides to eat the fruit and roll up on Beerus to become the new God of Destruction of U7 and basically just rule EVERYTHING. That's why he goes to earth. But then he meets Goku and Vegeta, and wants to know if the Saiyan God from the stories of legend he heard as a kid can stack up against the god fruit he ate.

Very Hot Take: The 21st Tenkaichi Budokai is the weakest tourtament out of the 3. The 23rd WT needs no explanation. But the 22nd introduces TIEN, (and Chaotzu I guess) has peak fights, a great character arc for tien, and it leads into the king piccolo arc, that has roshi, krillin (and Chaotzu I guess) dying, which is fye🔥🔥, and it leads to Goku drawing out his potential, and him avenging his friends. While i agree that frieza is farrr better than turles, I think a story for how turles arrives on earth would be pretty simple. Of course, turles could just be munchin' fruits, but we've seen that a quality of a planet affects the amount of power the fruit gives. Think about it, jaco notifies bulma that the little amount of races in UNI 7 are dissapearing all of a sudden with the only clue that a giant tree is left in it's wake. Now with turles eating for a decade, he would definitely get absurdly strong. But I don't think god level. Of course you can give him a sorta bullshit transformation through like the fruit blah blah blah maybe like an empowered ssj. Would probably be kinda like broly where he's literally a sack of ki.

The issue with the super saiyan god scaling being the point where "it goes bad" or "breaks the power scaling" is just false. I dont like seeing this narrative pushed for the blatantly obvious reason that is the buu saga. Incoming yap session but HERE WE GO. By the way these are NOT hot takes these are objective facts that have ALWAYS been present in the series. Ultimate gohan isnt even top 2 in DBZ. For one, he moves BoG and RoF are Z movies and are cannon to the GT timeline, therefore making the power rankings almost just go back to what it was in the namek saga besides beerus and whis. Even if you go with the current timeline, ultimate gohan is only the strongest for a breif moment in the manga. Goku quite literally surpasses him easily, as gohan dosent train a day after that. Its even worse in the anime, as gohan is weaker than both goku AND vegeta by the end of the buu saga. And the power scaling was fucked even as early as OG db. We went from roshi destroying the moon at max power, to DKP literally stating that he could easily one tap the entire planet. Almost every other main z fighter in the early saiyan saga eclipses this power with ease. Dont even get me started on namek, we went from Large planetary to Solar systems to the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. Freiza being universal in namek already eclipses anything in the saiyan saga by a large margin. They then surpass this freiza in the android saga and then the saiyans, androids + piccolo INFINITELY surpass him in cell. It was always absurd, but apparently super ruined it, which is just false. People are still kinda touching the surface and understanding why goku is layers into outerversal, if you think complex multi is bad then hell idk bro. Super just expanded the cosmology, which, people dont know the DB cosmology as well as others. HOT TAKE: The power scaling of dragon ball is FINE. It fits the series for sure, as we visually see the power jumps. if the scaling wasnt like this, other charatcers wouldnt be able to keep up with others. People like to slander the humans, but like, DB humans can box with characters like rimuru and anos unironically. B-BUT GOKU IS ONLY PLANET LEVEL!!
