Remember, he said he couldn't integrate his style with these (senior) players. He's setting a foundation from the academy youngsters to create a number of players to find some first team minutes and possibly a class of '92 over the next couple of years. I can see this happening now, and if I can, anybody can.

I thoroughly agree with you guys. We have definitely seen the end of big transfer fees and massive wages at United. INEOS will have looked at how many of those deals have worked post Fergie and let's face it could we say there has been any ? Bruno is probably the best signing and would he get into a Man City or Real Madrid first 11 ? Hopefully we begin to see a hungry young team who are eager for success and building a top level career.

I wouldn't get too excited, its just a nod in the right direction. We still need a squad big enough to cope with injuries and selling this lot will not buy enough replacements to compete. I don't expect many to go but those that stay are on a warning and if they don't buck their ideas up their future is bleak. You need the players we need to get rid of to want to go and that will only happen when they are dropped and better ones take their place. I think this squad has some fine players that will shine once the squad dynamic changes. Management need to focus on shedding the players that are disrupting the squad, you can't just dump everybody in the real world. Personally I think rebuilding the defence and putting Marcus on the bench would make a world of difference.

Consistent top four finishes seems to me a realistic initial target. This isn’t easy when City are guaranteed one of those places and potentially Arsenal as well for the next few years. So you are fighting for two places. Consistent top four helps us attract players and build towards a title challenge.
