Many years ago I had a corded Toro electric shovel and it was excellent. In my situation I had to crear a six foot wide deck which ran the length of my house and I had about another deck area about 25 feet square to clear as well. I had limited space to put the snow and the shovel was able to push the snow over my fence into my front yard. In my current house I don't think that a battery operated shovel will work well for me, and I really don't need a snow blower. Storage space is minimal and a small snow blower is a bit on the expensive side when factoring in an extra battery. Thank you for making this video.

Well I like my Toro power shovel I just got for this winter. Not much I can say, it works well so far. It does a great job of cleaning up the front of my driveway where snow plows come by and throw snow across the driveway entrance. Battery seems to last a while and does all the snow cleaning I need to do. Be nice if the shovel was a little wider than 13 inches, but I don't mind the small shoveling area it does. It is a bit heavy if you have to lift it allot - 15-20 pounds - and I do feel it after a while using the shovel. I don't mind that it only blows the snow straight out and not off to the side like snow blowers provide.

The power shovel would probably be ideal for someone like me where we only get a few inches to a foot of snow a year. Not enough to really mess with a snow blower.

I really like how it cleans it right down to the pavement.

I got the corded one. I live in North Idaho and it works great. Doesn't work at the end of the driveway where the plow made the giant mess but is great on the driveway and sidewalk. A snowblower will work a lot better but I don't have the funds to buy one of those.

I only have a walkway and a 6 car driveway (3 cars wide, 2 cars deep), so I definitely don't need a snow blower, I had one of these power shovels back in the 90s and it was perfect for small jobs, but I gave it away when I moved into an apartment. I've missed it these last couple years because I bought another house and it would be the right size tool for the area I have to clean. Luckily this past summer I got one at a yard sale for $12, I feel like this winter my back is going to be much happier with me. LOL...

:: side note:: the one I got is corded, but for the price I couldn't pass it up...

Great review! This would be a great tool for someone a bit older who may not be able to physically shovel a lot of snow, I could see this being a tool virtually anyone could use to clear a smaller area with not a crazy amount of snow

The Toro name stands for quality. Now it’s almost time to scalp for some Bermuda lovers. The snow threw me for a loop. Thanks Jimmy

My 64-year-old husband had a heart attack over the summer. I want him to get one of these. Our driveway gets plowed when we have 2” or more of snow but the plow leaves about a 2-3 foot section of snow in front of our driveway and in front of the porch. Would you recommend this for those areas?

I use mine for between cars when they are close together,,steps , deck spaces that are small things like that ,,pretty much less shovel work and it defiantly saves time and energy

Tried this unit last year , was not happy since once the snow was over 6-8 inches it would struggle and you can only direct the snow in one direction.

looks fun! I'll stick to my 24 inch snowblower with heated handes. But Colorado living requires a little more than this tool. But it's a nice option for lots.

Is ever I need a new snow blower I’m going for those heated handles 🔥

We get our fair share of snow in CNY. I have a large snow blower and a snow shovel. The shovel is great for stairs and the deck. Two areas I can't get a snow blower on 😁. It's better than shoveling by hand.

I started using it on stairs this year, too. Pretty handy!

I keep thinking I want one for our deck. I doubt it would ever see driveway duty except as a backup for our snow blower but right now if I get snow fall I can’t clear with a push broom, I let it sit on the deck. Have an outlet right there so I’d be tempted to go with a 120v.

Would be great for a deck!

just a couple of small wheels on the back side would help. You could just drag it back to where you want to go next instead of having to lift and carry it. Especially for us old folks.

A few more passes when I don't have to lift the weight of the snow is a trade off I am ok with.

considering snow shoveling is bad for you no matter the age...this is good for replacing the shovel...

I'm really questioning the practicality of this thing. $350 for a tool that isn't as wide as a basic, manual snow shovel and that is pretty heavy and you have to lift it constantly to make one directional progress--aren't we just trading one type of physical output for another? I can't imagine doing an entire residential driveway with it. There's also the wind factor. We get some pretty hefty winds that are going to alter the direction of your snow throw. Toro really needs to put a pivoting chute on it to allow two directional snow removal. I know somebody who just bought one of these things. We'll see what he thinks after one Minnesota winter season!

First Aussie 😁. I doubt if I would need one to get rid of a few ice cubes I’ve spilled on my lawn . That is the closest I’d come to snow at my place. 😳😬

One of the big box stores has it for $299.00 with the 60V battery and charger. Free shipping. Hunt down an adjustable shoulder strap so you can sling it over your shoulder. Or make one with rope. Takes some of the strain of using it off you. Yes it can clear 6-9 inches easy. Think box store with orange colors... Sells yard stuff, power tools, painting supplies. Had mine shipped to my front door for free. 😉
