This is the Power Smart 4400w generator. Should really come in handy when the power is out this winter. With a 3500w continuous power output this can run a fridge and microwave as well as several other house hold appliances. Weighing in at 72 pounds it can be taken to the job site for work in the field. This unit has a run time of 16 hours.

You should cut the gas off when you want to turn it off. Let it use what’s in the line and “starve” itself out so that it doesn’t gum up

That's good general advice. He's using ethanol-free fuel, so it shouldn't absorb too much moisture, meaning it might not be such an issue. I'm in South Africa and with our fuel I've left my 'project' car's carburettor full for a couple of years in-between starts and it has started up with no problems. The fuel in the tank is still good after about 3 years as well.

Good advice especially if it's not going to be used for a while. With Ethanol free fuel it is less likely to gum up.

With the atv, lawnmower, and generator i try really hard to avoid ethanol fuel.

@@LandtoHouse Shutting off the fuel and letting it starve is good for a few weeks of storage, but you will still have a few tablespoons of gasoline in the bowl. For longer storage use the drain plug on the carb bowl to get it completely empty.

@LandtoHouse Nohing wrong with using ethanol fuel as long as you use use fuel stabilizer and drain the carb before you put it in storage.

Highly recommend replace the spark plug on this generator to e3 22 !makes the generator run smoother and not misfire very cheap spark plugs cause misfire!

The spark plug is Torch F6RTC. Where do you find E22?? It doesnt show up in list of alternative spark plugs

Very nice, thanks for this. Inverter-generator is a nice step up, the gas engine drives a DC PMA then the inverter gives you much cleaner A/C power. Those gas can safety nozzles break on the inside after just a couple years, the aftermarket replacement 'water jug spout and vent' works much better (rigid spout not the flexible spout).

Be fun to include steam power generator to your system as you have plenty of fuel for it on your property if gas was unavailable….

Quality of fuel effects performance, best run a fuel stabilizer and run carb dry. I prefer dual fual generators ,propane is easier on the motor and if you have a large tank they run for a long time with noneed to go out and refuel.

I got one the is dual fuel. It has never been run off gasoline

You normally only use the choke to assist in starting the engine, once its running you can start to reduce the choke to nothing, otherwise you will run the engine very rich, and fowl the sparkplug, plus running the engine very rich will cause long term damage.

These were on sale for 300 this year, so keep that in mind don't over pay... even with inflation this is still an inexpensive unit it has no electric start, it just does what it needs to and that is it. The cost of the components for these machines has falling drastically in the last few years they probably use many of the same parts that are in low cost solar equipment.

My buddy was using my tiny generator, he told me it struggled to power the tea boiler. The generator is a 1450 watt generator. The tea maker is a 1500 watt. I went through and showed him how to find that stuff out kinda important

Very cool addition to your power solutions! I hope it serves you well. 16hrs for 2.5 gallons is outstanding, mine run 16hrs on 4 gallons at 50% load. If you use it often enough to go through more than a tank every month, gasoline with 10% ethanol does a better job than ethanol free with 'dry gas' to keep atmospheric moisture & condensation sequestered in suspension and away from the rustable interior of the fuel tank, and flush the carb enough to prevent gum & lacquer. If it's going to sit for more than a month, siphon out the tank and drain the carburetor bowl between uses. I can see the 10mm plug on the bottom front of the bowl for draining. (I have a video on my channel for this exact type of genny maintenance). Bone-Dry is best for longer term storage and it only takes a few minutes. Gum/Lacquer clogging up the carb does not come from the ethanol, it comes from the medium-chain hydrocarbons in gasoline polymerizing onto long-chain hydrocarbons, the same way an oil finish on furniture hardens, or acrylic cement bonds clear acrylic panels together to make a box, by reacting with the air. If I could attach a pic to a comment I could show you a carb filled with gum from sitting for 2+ years, and the rust it caused inside the tank. (never loan out your generators for more than a week, lol).

If your going to occasional use this Genny, get yourself some petrol preserver to mix with your stored petrol, it goes stale after a few months.

Hi: We just received it and no instruction manual was in the box. Box was pretty loose it may have slipped out. No one is answering on the 800 number on the box. Basically we will follow your video to startup when we need it. Thanks for your video. If you know where we can get a manual would appreciate that info. Great video and what a sweet boy you have. thanks Fran

You should shut the fuel off first and let it drain the fuel out of the bowl and line to let it die on its own

Okay. Now we just have to compare the net cost/benefits of Solar/Gasoline/Diesel/Propane/Wind/Water/generation of "power," with which our ancestors accomplished without.
