I’m doing this next week on my mk1 cupra r bam engine k04 turbo we have a bit of a different set up we’re you have the y pice next to timing belt cover we have 2 hoses because we have water pump for the turbo when the cars turned off runs for a couple mins to help cool it do I just blank the 16 mm hose that goes to bottom of coolant ball ? In my mind that’s how be good if you could confirm as all the vids Iv watched all mk4 golfs 🤙

Lol. You dont throw the coolant in the floor. When the coolant gets hot it expands and comes out of the water neck.. should go into a reservoir and feed from the bottom of it. When you turn off the car and the system cools down, it will suck it back into the radiator. They are called overflow tanks for a reason.

Correct however the tank has to be up and visible which so the water can be sucked up when it cools down if the tank is to low gravity wins and the coolant wont go back into the system defeats the purpose of this. Just keep the stock stuff.

Why not delete the fitting on the upper hose to the coolant flange and put the filler neck in that spot without cutting the hose? Less parts hides the cap better

On the low pressure return line... couldn’t you just leave the OE line and add a fitting to extend the line instead of dealing with cutting? About to do this

You could do this but you will risk having the hose bend or hit a pulley. This is why we cut the metal line to move it out of the way.

Idk if this has been asked but with the SAI pump removed how likely would I be to relocate the PS reservoir to mount on the block in place of the pump?

It's very doable however it will get very hot my suggestion is make a bracket that keeps it away from the block and make sure the hoses also don't touch anything metal or it will rub a hole into them

No it will not work on a mk6. Strictly for mk4 platform
