I have the Powerstop Z26 Street Warrior Rotor with ceramic pads on my 2011 GT/CS. Got them in Aug 2017, around 20,000 miles on them and they look brand new still. Daily driver, never raced, except in Mexico. No cracking or hairline fractures. I would def get them again.
@BubbaBlueTube5 жыл бұрын
Me too! I don’t see why they get so much hate. But again maybe it’s because they’re so cheap and people wanna justify spending 500+ on their rotors that look the same lol

I run performance powerstop drilled and slotted on my Infiniti G37s and Lexus IS350 with akebono ceramic pads for several years and find this is a perfect combination for great performance and low brake dust. I buy the rotors, pads, and hardware separately even though it's more expensive than the powerstop kit, but this lets me configure the braking system exactly the way I want it for my cars and still much cheaper than OE parts and look and perform better in my opinion.

@GainingDespair2 жыл бұрын
I believe there is a lot of counterfeits online, also I do think pad choice comes into play as well. There is also neglect from the owner which can play a part, not hard to imagine just about anyone could warp any rotor in under 2k miles if they willfully tried too. People who buy these typically want better braking, so the also upgrade their pads as well to 'high performance' semi metallic which have a good bit more metal in them. Causes a lot more heat, wear down the rotors quicker, and they generally brake a lot harder. Throw counterfeits into the equation, and it's not that hard to imagine anyone damaging any brand of rotor.

I need to replace mine, I got a “cheap” pair from autozone and they warped. Real bad. And I’ve been looking at hawk but maybe I’ll go with these. I do a lot of hard braking though

I'm looking to replace my Honda Accord Coupe V6 stock rotors & pads. Thank you for your video. Which pads do you recommend as I was going to go with the Power Stop Z23 & Z26 pads?
@ronradmer35733 жыл бұрын
These are the BEST. You cant get any better and they are way better than OEM. The only thing better is Brembo but why spend that much unless it is a full blown track car.

Hi. Any updates on your brakes?
@nicksrandomviews12962 жыл бұрын
The people that are having problems with the rotors cracking probably didn't do the break in procedure properly or at all because these are definitely high quality brakes for the money.

That's my thoughts too😂👌
@user-bi2me1kj7p2 жыл бұрын
Cracking from the research ive done is caused by the rotors getting super hot then cooling off too quickly. But then again people don’t understand that harder u push your equipment the quicker its going to mess up. Its an extreme comparison but nascar drivers can have the best equipment in the world, but they’ll break just like that from the sheer stress. Doesnt mean they’re horrible quality

The bad reviews are people going circuit racing with these. Push the car hard? Buy the expensive stuff! For daily driving this works great

@Print2shoot2 жыл бұрын
@@tinotheteamster1998 I have them on my rear. They have worked well on rears. They only lasted 1.5 years. I did just switch to element 3 pads with power stop drilled/slotted rotors on rears. Element 3’s are much better! Could be worse tho. I have akebonos on my front and they barely stop the car. They are expensive pads too! For front I have high carbon brembo rotors, no holes, and they are warped pretty bad! Just ordered power stop drilled/slotted rotors to match the rear, but decided to go with NRS galvenized pads and tho I haven’t installed them, I doubt I’ll ever buy a different pad than these. They are made properly and galvenized. They aren’t glued like $20-$100 pads, they are mechanically attached and they are not coated because they are proud of their galvanized attributes. Yes I run different brake pads on front and back because there’s no problem with doing so and it allows me to try out more brands. Should use the same rotors all the way around tho. I just had a unique situation and needed to save money for the last pair.

Two months after I purchased the Power Stop brake kit my right rear caliper failed and began leaking brake fluid. After waiting three weeks for the part, they now tell me the ETA is over a month away. This really sucks. I now have to buy and install a temporary generic caliper while I wait for the Power Stop caliper. Don't do it. Right Rear Leak. TT797144
@BubbaBlueTube2 жыл бұрын
These won’t affect your brake calipers. Unless you got the wrong size, or you crimped a brake line when you installed it, it won’t affect any brake lines or calipers

@hochgonzalo89232 жыл бұрын
@@BubbaBlueTube Yeah, I only had them two months before the caliper failed. It's not good a part failing in two months, but it happens, I get it. The double whammy is them not having any spare parts and having to wait almost two months for it. Who knows, it may be even longer than that. I'm going to have to install a non-red OEM part temporarily. It's going to look awful, and a costly experience.
