I installed the z26 pad & rotor kit on my '16 Charger R/T & think it's well worth the $400 I bought the kit for. @ about 50K miles, the rear brakes would squeal like crazy no matter what pads/rotors I replaced it with when it was stock. As long as you do the break-in procedure, you should be fine! Just hit 100K miles with the kit & no complaints. Hope this helps fellow Mopar families!

I think they're so smooth that people feel they don't have the same stopping power. They do. It's just they don't bite hard initially. But they will stop when you need them too. But these feel smooth af and don't dust and are quiet. Just bed them in, a few times if u have to, and then give them a few days. They'll be up to snuff
@erniearambula35252 жыл бұрын
All ceramic material brake pads have less bite than your semi metallic but once you adjust your leg or foot pressure to your braking they perform much better than stock they're easier on your rotors there's virtually no brake dust or noise and my front ceramic pads have lasted for 2 years.

Thanks for doing this video my friend. I have put them on a lot of my customers cars and they like the stopping and love that the pads are basically dust free. They all have liked them better than the Brembos EXCEPT for 1 customer. ANYHOW......... As usual you hit it on the head. That was a perfect.comparison!! Your the man B

I put them on my hellcat and 392 Challenger and I like it. Just put new rotors on front. most Mopar dealers want 1250 . A piece. Monster Mopar got them for 655. Plus shipping. Ask for Sam. New Mopar rotars have only 3 slots on each side. I think Mopar is changing them out with less slots, maybe to many cause heat at high speed braking. Not enough beef on old ones.

How important do you think the initial heat cycle break in is? To be honest the stock 6-piston brakes are super grabby stock. So maybe z26 pads will actually have nicer feel. What about swapping them in the rear? Or did you only do the front.? Thanks for the video.

Only did the front, but I was very particular about the bed in procedure.

Hey Mason just installed these on my 2011 Mazda Miata. So, I thought the same thing. The initial bite when pressing the brake is pretty stock... Kinda bummed. But, when you stand on the brakes they definitely stop harder and faster than OEM. So my plan is, keep the power stop rotors and pads. Get through winter and soon as summer comes around I'll do some EBC yellow pads because what im looking for is the first initial "bite" overall the PowerStop pads are good and better than OEM along with the rotors. For $185. I'm extremely happy
@BMan1004 жыл бұрын
So on a daily drive deal, they are as good as the stock brembos in your opinion. Thanks...i'm glaring at the not so "loved" SRT 392's. Missed my chance to order one from the factory (I live by it lol) being Anal retent I'd want to keep it OEM, but a grand ( CDN) for one brake disc is a bit over kill, what's your impression on those Replacement Rotor rings though?

Z26 material doesn't have much bite. If you have a high horsepower car and "Hoon", then semi-metallics are for you. There really isn't a replacement. Unless of course you opt for High Carbon rotors to aide with the bite. Having "clean" wheels isn't paramount when you have a behavior of higher speed.
@mo1988326 ай бұрын
That why I upgrade the brake hose to stainless steel and put high carbon rotors

The stock pads is not the main issue. It’s the rotor on one side. Their slotted for directional but all 4 corners are slotted the same way but the internal rotor cooling is for non-directional. I just installed the PowerStop front&back kit (Rotors and Ceramic pad) and it’s quiet like a Honda. I had Hawk HPS pads and these squeaked like the original Brembo pads. Jumping thru videos this weekend about Brembo and slotted direction I realized that dodge should have delivered our cars with proper slotted directional rotors. A couple people have remarked that the only time they have heard a squeak from Power Stop is when going in reverse. Of course this means their rotor is traveling in the opposite direction. I’m tempted to put my original Brembo pads back on since they only have 5,0000 miles on them to prove a point that they won’t squeak with the power stop rotors.
@Superrun3575 жыл бұрын
ceramic brake pad lube. had the same issue, fixed it with a simple cleaning. pop the wheels off, two pins, pull the pads out, clean rotors and pads with brake cleaner, liberally lube the back of the brake pads where the pistons touch them. * disclaimer yes there are places you should and should not put brake cleaner and lube so do your research and be careful, wear gloves and don't get any brake lube on the front of the brake pads. I completely silenced and fixed the problem on my four pistons on the scat.

Performance brakes will squeak until they are warmed up people buying race grade Porsche 911s were complaining about the same thing basically they have a higher operating temp range and will be noisy until they heat up and hit that mark

I never quite understood the brake dust issue... but I detail polish my wheels (whole car, really) every weekend... ‘low brake dust’ would never affect my purchase decision.

Two months after I purchased the Power Stop brake kit my right rear caliper failed and began leaking brake fluid. After waiting three weeks for the part, they now tell me the ETA is over a month away. This really sucks. I now have to buy and install a temporary generic caliper while I wait for the Power Stop caliper. Don't do it. Right Rear Leak. TT797144

From what I understand, the Z23 and Z26 are the same pads with the exception to the heat dissipation shield that comes on the back of the Z26 pads.

So far I would have to disagree. These pads have slowed my car down from well over 150 miles an hour on numerous occasions and that along with less rotor wear and 0 breakdust. I'd say they're an upgrade in every area. That being said they do not have the same initial bite that the stock pads have, that's fine with me.
