Power to the Artists: Non Fungible Token (NFT) (Talk) | Pop-Kultur 2022

NFTs are on everyone’s lips, hailed as a solution to break the power of large corporations and strengthen the independence of artists. But how does it work in the field of music? How can musicians use this tool innovatively, and what can they learn from the art scene that already uses NFTs?
Music manager Carmelo Lo Porto developed Niftee, the first platform for hand-curated, exclusive NFTs in Europe, and organised the first NFT auction in the music industry - with rappers Kool Savage and Cro. Musician Jovanka von Wilsdorf is an expert in music compositions with artificial intelligence. Along with host and digital transformation advisor Tristan Littlejohn, they will discuss the opportunities and different possibilities for artists to use NFTs, shedding light on their political, social and, of course, economic aspects - such as democratisation, self-empowerment, decentralisation, monetisation, community-building and much more.

Wie können Musiker*innen dieses Tool innovativ einsetzen und was können sie dabei von der Kunstszene lernen, die bereits von NFTs Gebrauch macht?
Musikmanager Carmelo Lo Porto entwickelte mit Niftee die erste Plattform für handkuratierte, exklusive NFTs in Europa und organisierte die erste NFT-Auktion in der Musikindustrie - mit den Rappern Kool Savage und Cro. Die Musikerin Jovanka von Wilsdorf ist Expertin für Musikkompositionen mit Künstlicher Intelligenz. Gemeinsam mit Moderator und Digital Transformation Advisor Tristan Littlejohn diskutieren sie die Chancen und unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten für Künstler*innen bei der Nutzung von NFTs und beleuchten dabei politische, soziale und natürlich auch wirtschaftliche Aspekte - wie Demokratisierung, Selbstermächtigung von Künstler*innen, Dezentralisierung, Monetarisierung, Community-Aufbau und vieles mehr.
