How lovely the cottage is coming along, I really like the color of the walls, it’s very warm looking. The fabric on the chair is perfect and I can’t wait to see all the rest of the furniture in, the rug is very nice and I enjoy the palette 🎨. Mum must be so happy to get things out of storage, I know how she feels. In 2017 in October my house in California caught on fire and burned the roof and attic off, so they had to take everything out of the entire house to storage where it all sat for a year. The roofers took a while to get started as there was asbestos in my heating ducts and they had to take it all out it ran from the attic down to the underneath of the floors and vented in the floor. The insurance paid for everything luckily but they were so slow getting along as there was a lot of water damage from the firemen and they had to open the walls and remove all the ceilings, they put a tarp over the house but in January there was a big storm and it blew the tarp off and flooded the whole rest of the house that wasn’t damaged by the fire 🔥 I said oh Lord I give up, go ahead and do whatever you want to me there’s nothing I can do now. So they had to again open all the rest of the walls and all the floors were ruined and I had wood floors that had to be completely refinished. So for a year myself and Max my dog 🐕 lived in a hotel 🏨 which was really nice with a kitchen and living room and bedroom and bath with a nice fireplace and they served breakfast every morning and dinner 3 nights a week. I was so sad to see all my things taken away and I brought a couple things to the hotel to make it feel like home. Good thing though I couldn’t stand the cell of smoke any more and I quit smoking after 30 years. I ate oatmeal every morning and it made my high cholesterol go back to normal. All in all it was a good thing because I got a whole brand new house, and I turned around and sold it for twice what I paid for and moved to Texas and paid for my new bigger ranch house with cash. It’s not a château I know but it’s my castle. And the part of Texas I live in is nothing like you would imagine it’s very green and lush with lots of mature trees and it even snows in the winter, which was a new experience for me having lived by the beach for all my 57 years. Tracey always does the hardest and most necessary, family needs it, life will progress, make it amazing, work! No discredit to the men that do the heaving lifting but "Mum" Is always pushing the jobs. TRACEY, is my me hero, the bones behind the accomplishments. Tracey, please stop lifting the heavy stuff. I have done it for over 30 years here on this farm and my neck and back are shot. It is irreverent to you but as far as me, I struggle morning, day, night, getting thru basic jobs now with pain killers included. The project is NO DOUBT looking amazing.

Tracy and Tony are defiantly the stars of these videos. Modest and hardworking with non of airs and graces that are going on in the chateau. Ash is a down to earth bloke that gets stuck into his jobs. Tracy is amazing and gets on with the jobs that most men would would struggle to do. I love want she said about digging the trench. " It was only a mornings work." Most women wouldn't even try. Just a little advice, Tracy. When your son asks you move furniture up the stairs make sure your at the top. Twice I have seen you carrying stuff up stairs and you are at the bottom. The person at the bottom carries 3/4 of the weight so grab the top next time.

The carpet is absolutely gorgeous! And the arm chair. OMG! The finish of the wood of the chair is perfection! What shade and brand of stain is it? Blends so well with the fabric and the wood in the cottage. I also can't believe what a difference the lighting makes. We've seen it with daylight and camera light. But multiple lights on at one time just really makes the wood pop! Bravo! And just think, very soon you will have the pleasure & luxury of a flushing toilet and a long hot hot shower.

Our cottage was derelict when we bought it, we had to get a consuel certificate and then wait for anges for Enedis to connect us, so we know that joy of having electricity. We’ll done to all of you.

Love the new rug and chair they were absolutely meant for the cottage. The casters on the chair are an especially nice feature in such a big room as you can easily wheel it to wherever you want to accommodate guest, etc. Time for Ash to have his Supper and get tucked into his bed, clearly he’s had a very long and busy day.
