Power tool cords are too short

Removing the 5 foot (not long enough) cord on my oscillating best sander and replacing it with something a lot longer. I can now use this tool anywhere in my shop and reach my 220V plugs.
How to rewire any tool and extend the cord length.

I have a VFD job coming up that if I can't figure out I might need your help or thoughts on. That 3 phase metal lathe and Mill I'm going to try to get up and running with a cheap VFD.
