Thank you Steve! I'm currently restoring a 1980 W200 long bed step side in Brown Sunfire Metallic. It's a 360 4bbl, NP435 4 speed truck with factory Meyer plow. Originally a county vehicle, I am the second owner and it was last on the road in the 1990s. Unfortunately my truck, like the one above, was pretty rusty and I have had to use three other trucks to restore it. I'm using the frame from a 1975, the cab from a 1988, the 5.9L Magnum from a 2000 Ram, and a 1998 Econoline Dana 60 in the rear. My truck has the 3.54 gears with the granny 4 speed. The donor '75 was an Adventurer package and came also with the Meyer plow, but 4.10 gears with a 727. Loving these junkyard crawls!

Mopar truck enthusiast since early '80's, first truck '57 D100 V8, two spd, push button with wrap around rear window. Went through a lot of modifications in a small garage. A couple of pop top Ramchargers. Half a dozen square bodied Ramchargers. I've owned from new '91,'95,'98 and '01 Dodge 4X4's. From my service rig days, messy divorce, back in '02 lost my '01 V10, 5spd Quad Cab. Got my first Powerwagon, an '80 Clubcab 360, 4bbl, 4spd. Long box where the only options are the cargo light and dual tanks. A few D100's later, bought a used '15 Powerwagon, loved it, traded for a used '18 Powerwagon, love it. I'm 55, and not trying to brag about what I've owned. I'm just a die hard Mopar guy that still owns the '57, the '80. Yes it's nice to hit the command start when it's -30C and see the '18 fire up. But I know the '80 PW will start at -35C, I just have to be in t to pump the throttle, and adjust manual choke. No fancy electronics.

I never was much of a Dodge light truck fan, possibly due to brand loyalty at the time (Ford) and experience with the Army’s versions that were probably one-ton 4x4s with 318 two barrels. They road like the proverbial lumber wagon but I don’t remember anyone in units I served in getting stuck in one. They were probably successors to the original military Power Wagon. I remember the old TV show, “Simon and Simon” where one of the brothers drove a Dodge truck and made regular reference to the “Power Wagon.” Your videos are highly educational. Automobiles are every bit a part of American history. Give these junk yards another 100 years and there won’t be much left of these tarnished gems but hopefully your presentations will live on in the digital universe. If the museums where restored versions still exist, they won’t tell the whole story like your daily ten minutes of expertise do.

I owned a bronze 73 Power Wagon Sweptline. Loved that truck. Had dual fuel tanks, one behind the seat and a plastic tank under the bed. Filled both tanks from the single filler cap where the filler was on this truck. If you wanted to fill the tank behind the seat, you put the nozzle straight in. To fill the aux tank, you had to put the nozzle at an angle. I think it held about 50 gallons of fuel. Popped a timing chain on it when I was two hundred miles from home but was able to nurse it back to home base where I changed the timing chain and drove it for a couple more years.

Extra heavy duty front and rear springs, 360 4 speed close ratio transmission, disc brakes and optional 9.50 x 16.5 10 ply tires. Even had a dash mounted throttle knob. It was an Adventurer. He hated me for insisting on the 4 speed. The spring and tire options were also my idea along with the anti spin differential. He would not pop for a lousy radio, I think it was around a 30 buck option. [He lived through the great depression] Even so I remember it was a little over 4000 out the door. Drove it till 81.

Hi Steve, great video on this Dodge truck. The nearby city used these Dodge trucks well into the 80s. I remember going to an auction they had back then, and it was a Mopar wonderland. All the cars and trucks were Dodge or Plymouths. l was after some of the retired staff cars to flip. Police cars were trashed. But those 1 tons really worked hard and were beat on. They looked like someone had used them for wood trucks their entire life and didn't care where they threw the wood in. Everything was painted white with the city's seal. After that, the city went GM, and the very next auction, they took 2 days instead of 1 to sell everything. The city must have lost a fortune having to auction off 2-3yr old vehicles instead of the 10-15yr Dodge and Plymouths. OUCH! Looks like that finger of yours played bump stop on a door or something. Stay safe out there, Steve. Thx for what you do. Namaste 🙏🏼

My old boss had a B200 van for his own use and a D300 dump truck that his brother drove. I would quite often get sent to pick up materials in the dump truck. After I left to work for another contractor I remained friends with my old boss and after his brother retired he would occasionally say that he should get rid of the D300. I would occasionally say “how much do you want for the truck?” The answer was always “well my son still needs it once in a while. I better keep it.” The truck was a 1985. My old boss died in 2010. His son sold the truck ( not to me ) in 2015 or 2016. I think it still had much less than 100,000 miles on it.

I have a blue 1972 D200 step side pickup. Mine has the spare tire structure on the pick up side. Mine also had the 16 1/2" wheels which can be a big problem in getting replacement tires. I solved this problem by getting "big hole" 8 lug 16" wheels. Both were available from Ford and Dodge. Chevys use a "small hole" 8 lug which won't fit over the hubs on a Ford or dodge. Being a California truck, my blue dash cover is crumbling away so I recently got an Oregon used cover which is still quite usable.
