Great video! I recently bought a standard Condor .25 with the 24" L.W. barrel. It loves the JSB 33.95gr MkII Heavy pellets and the NSA 36.2 HP slugs. This gun has so much power and it is so accurate, I'm just blown away by it! The way I have it tuned I'm shooting the MkII Heavies around 900 fps for 61 ft lbs and NSA 36.2 slugs are going 965 fps for around 75 ft lbs. I can make them go faster than that no problem! I still need to mess with the power wheel settings and the chrono as well as getting more rounds down the pipe. This gun is a beast! So far I have shot it out to 75 yards no problem. At 50 yards it is like shooting fish in a barrel! I love it! I hope to be able to take a coyote with it someday. I know it has enough power to do it. If anyone is on the fence about getting an AirForce airgun, do it! You will be glad you did!

FOR VIEWERS:The power wheel is not really for turning up and down the power, though it does a bit. The PW is for tuning the valve operation. 3 examples. 1. High PW @ 3000psi, medium @2500pis, back to high for low bottle pressure. High to fight bottle pressure, medium when pressure behind valve is less, back to high at low bottle because your low on air PRESSURE and need the valve open longer to give time for the low pressure air out. #2 if you want to shoot the same speed, but a heavy and light pellet turn PW low for light pellet and high for heavy pellet they will come out the same speed about , punch paper save air, get good take down sacrifice a few shots. #3 put a regulator on it, then you can pic your psi, pick your barrel length, pic your pellet weight, THEN!!! you tune it all together with the Power Wheel. Great video Rick

Thanks Rick. in your video,clearly show that the power wheel really works as intended. I read a review indicating that the wheel,was totally unresponsive to any dramatic changes of power setting,they was mentioned that from#1to#12 setting was only 30 fps. different making the wheel settings useless. as a new owner of a Air force talon ss.I am glad to have watched your video. Thanks again Rick well done!

Good video - excellent notes on the power wheel - has been a problem with my understanding since I bought my Condor last year. Your's is the first video that explains it - thank you Rick!Until your video, I understood very little about it. I had my wheel set at 6.0 - shooting 33.1gr. H&N's. Very accurate andthe meat rabbits gone wild - I shot each - DRT! 1 heart shot, 2 head shots - all died on the spot. Dressed, they were separated into 3 packages of 3 pounds of meat each. BTW- you cannot tear off a meat rabbit's skin without cutting it first, not at all like a snowshoe hare. OH yea - tasty!!!!!!!!!!!One of these days this summer, I need to get out and do a chrono test. I also have the NOE 51gr. FN 4-cavity mould. I have moly coated the bullets and must do a chono-test on those as well. They should be great for coyotes, at high power.

Tuning tip for non chronograph owner. Keep the bottle pressure consistent shoot into something that that will trap the pellet I use candles. Start at #2-#12. When the gun gets louder and when measuring pellet depth does not get much deeper, you hit your max hammer spring tension for that bottle pressure and barrel length. At that point back the hammer off a bit. That is called a power tune. It's to open the valve as much needed for that pressure and CLOSING befor the air gets to the end of the barrel. Thats why barrel length matter. I don't get much after PW #6-7 on a 12inch barrel. Do to length of runway. 18inch barrel pw# 8-10, 24inch barrel pw#10-12.

Rick - please call them - DIE - AH - BO(hard O) - LO (diabolo) not DEE - AH - BLOW (diablo)Diabolo is the shape of a pellet having a waist - diablo is a devil of some-such thingvideo was great, otherwise.Be assured, you are not alone in your pronunciation of diabolo - most people mispronounce this descriptive word.Calling a diabolo pellet diablo is similar to calling a hollow point long range target bullet, a round nose- or conical bullet.

Great Video AG Brother!!! I hated original AF guns. Those top hats with grub screws SUCKED! Talon Tunes or your own machine shop was the only way to go. The new Spin Lock tanks, and adjustable threaded top hats w/ various size ports from "The Spin-Loc" set have made these EXCELLENT for their price. I have 5 tight tolerance bushings, a quad rail rides 2 at each end. One against the power wheel. I have a heavy 115 gram no slap from PCP Tunes, a 10 coil TT's heavy spring and running a .166" or .187" top hat. That beast sends Griffin 2 stroke swaged 28 grain RBT slugs at 1070fps. A DonnyFL Emperor on threaded barrel. Runs best from 2750 down to 2500psi. I run tethered on a Bench so 2500psi is fine. The slow 1:17.7 twist choked LW is also sending 32 grain .412" OAL slugs at 1040fps. I JUST GOT The Emperor & barrel threaded. So I can actually try the 34-44 grain RBT Griffins. If it stabilizes the.217" OD .500" OAL 44's oh man. I'm more than happy with the 32's @ 78 ft/lbs. Unless you're willing to upgrade your barrel, add bushings, quad rail, maybe carbon fiber vacuum wrap your barrel (John Bowman can do it right) but 80ft/lbs is pretty dang good for a .22 These component guns are fine for up to 60-80ft/lbs. Otherwise get a custom Scandalous that actually has 3" finely threaded into the monoblock. That is my 300+ yard precision shooter. 600 yards is easy for that Scandalous .257 But I'm in love with my little .22 & 28-32 grain RBT slugs for targets out to even 400. Run tethered with a step down in-line reg if you're serious about groups at long range. There's no other affordable way. Yeah onboard Regs are available now but 10 -20 shots and a spread ain't my thing.
@JM103442 жыл бұрын
Yes this is the best AF video. AF is losing so much in sales because they do not regulate it and have videos out explaining how to work the functions of the gun for the length barrel you have.
@carlmatera3324 ай бұрын
There are four adjustments, from highest to lowest. 1-Fill pressure 2.Valve size (if you have the SpinLoc valve kit) 3.The number on the slider 4.The number on the knurled dial You really need to know all 4 to get accurate settings.

Mr hollowpoint told me I should crank my power wheel all the way up and run it at full power all the time.
@urbanairgunner64024 жыл бұрын
Yes you can leave it all the way up if you want too . But if you want to be precise with shot counts and air management then It all depends on the caliber and weight of the projectile that you are using. If you shoot across a chronograph you will be able to see the difference in shot counts and speed.. that is the great thing about these guns having adjustability. Sorry for the long answer hope this helps lol.
@seaskiff203 жыл бұрын
Could be wasting a lot of air for no reason. ....same result at a lower setting, pellet depending.
@AlbeeSoaring3 жыл бұрын
I have noticed that with liter pellets or slugs that the power wheel adjustment from mid to high isnt much change like what you show in your video but with heavier slugs the change gets more dramatic from mid to high on the power wheel.
@urbanairgunner64023 жыл бұрын
That is correct I believe I said that with a lighter pellet you do not need all that are where the heavier pellet you need a little more air to push it down the barrel to help stabilize it with a light pellet you're just wasting air
@AlbeeSoaring3 жыл бұрын

I'm old maybe I thought I said it lol I think I was blabbing about 25.39 g jsb and 50 ghp .I haven't watched it in years lol. No worries but you are absolutely right though just running the dial up can waist a lot of air if you are shooting a light pellet. It will only go so fast . Thank you for taking the time to watch the video. I do appreciate it.

Just got my chrono yesterday from Caldwell but still waiting for my scope rings. (I had ordered BKL 1inch instead of 30mm- my bad) and heavier pellets from Eun Jin. I bought some lighter ones at the show in Poolville and found they are super sonic so I ordered the 28 and 32g to try. Had to try the chrono firing blind to check the speed and was 1100 on my .22. After watching this video I am going to crank it way down from the factory setting of 6-6 and find my sweet spot. I have some sparrows that keep killing my baby bluebirds and will actually kill the momma too and lay their eggs on top of the body. So I am anxious to get set up and going and send them to sparrow heaven. Good video to take the time and show the whys and why nots.
@eaamonmangan46017 жыл бұрын
Mike Anderson you might just check, it is usually a brown headed cow bird that does that. female is not the black with brown head it looks more grayish. the female is smaller than the male, they parasite all song birds not just blue birds. they let unsuspecting parents raise them. the cow bird lays about 80 eggs in its lifetime, almost wiped out the bluebirds.
@eaamonmangan46017 жыл бұрын
Mike Anderson one more thing there was a PBS show on those cowbird detailing their destruction several years ago.

Think you are right about the cowbird;however, articles do say the sparrow will lay eggs inside also. Will attempt to discourage all of them :)
@eaamonmangan46017 жыл бұрын
Mike Anderson true about some sparrows laying in others nest but I think it happens after theirs was destroyed by a cowbird and they have eggs not layed yet. I believe recently I heard of birders recommending a 1 5/8th inch hole bird house entry, because it prevents the cowbird from entering and causes them to loose their egg on entering. I really love my 25cal airforce rifle. it replaced a Benjamin 22.

skinny Mitch pettengill that is going to depend on how tall you are Etc I'm a big tall guy so typically I mount my scope using taller rings and sometimes a picatinny rail riser or something of that nature because with an air rifle when you're not shooting out past a hundred yards most times so you can sight it in for say 75 yards and you know that your holdover will be a certain amount at 100 yards or your hold under will be a certain amount so the alignment of the scope to me is not as critical as it would be on a firearm so I tend to mount my Scopes little higher than most people thank you for watching the video I hope that helped
