I have implemented this repeated learning without knowing this and it works. On average I repeat every study five times in order to really have a good knowledge about it. I do it in different time intervals, not immediately after I learned something. The drawback is, there is no shortcut, you have to invest a lot of time and effort, which you have to allocate from other activities. There is always a price to pay.
