Such an authentic pathway to learn coding. Yes, Java is the language to go for. Once we learn it, things become easy to catch. It's not as fast C++ but not as slow as Python. I don’t care if you’re a seasoned software engineer, this is just overwhelming.

Well done Powercouple, Great stuff you shared. Following the steps you discussed, what concepts do I need to master before I can build The Guided Projects (Tic tac toe, Sudoku, Snake etc) and subsequently build My Own project? Can Java concepts from 'Learn java from scratch' on Educative be enough to satrt the Guided Projects? Thanks.

I have 5 years of diverse experience. As DevOps, software engineer and site reliability engineer... But software engineer is something that interests me a lot. However I know JavaScript and python... I was confused initially that functional programming is the new trend and I dint learn java in my initial stage... But I struggled a lot when I was promoted from DevOps engineer to software engineer II in my previous organization. I had problems adapting with the codebase and the company fired me due to my incapability to adapt from DevOps to software engineer.... I wish I could have learnt java... I would have dealt the codebase at ease.... So no excuses learning java after 5+ diverse experience. Just adhering to Sahil's words and I have no doubt I will maser Java or pickup java easily

Hello bro good to hear about your experience. I am also starting Java. Can you tell me how hard it is to get a job in this field. Should I learn programming or try my luck in other fields. As I have seen many people in comment section still struggling for a job. A personal advice from you would be very helpful...

May I ask even you learned some code. It is important to consider that would you be hired by some company to get a stable career path or income? Or the scope of the coding is extremely wide and difficult so it takes unbearable efforts to learn in a continuous way?

I’m at the point where I can build things with React and consume API’s. Now I’m studying Java. While learning I can’t help but compare Java to JavaScript and I can see why people complain about JavaScript and vice versa. Java is super verbose and oop is not so easy. TypeScript helps out where JavaScript is lacking so I can see why some prefer TypeScript over JavaScript.

I found the Algorithm part 1 a bit confusing. Some of the terms used are the ones which I haven’t heard of. Any suggestions? Also I’m following your path. I have learnt java , C and currently doing projects with the use of React js and Springboot. Thanks and keep motivating!

Hello Sir, first of all thank you for this kind of good information. So you r saying to focus on java if i am starting to code but i already started learning python and i have a good grasp on C and it's DSA from my college days..should i keep going with python or it would be preferable to change to java asap, like i have complete all my my basics and right now learning DSA from udacity which u have prefered on your early videos.

I know I am pretty late, but i was wondering what your opinion on C# is? I picked it as my first language (besides HTMl & CSS if they count) and really liked it because it directly is from Microsoft. I also heard that it is really familiar to Java so I would love to hear your opinion :D.

C# is equally good compared to Java, just apply the techniques he made mention of in your learning of C# and you're good to go.

If not , can we switch to other fields in IT, if we are not good enough 😕. Like cloud or managerial roles . Is that a possibility? How do older people 40+ age still survive as software engineer ?

Try to see if coding can complement your existing experience. If you are an absolute beginner, be prepared to spend dedicated months to an year to actually get started off and reach a situation where you can build projects. I am also from non-CS like op. I have been working with C++ and QT for 2-3 years now, and have been spending the last 5-6 months studying DSA for the first time as a proper course. I believe that doing some CS courses would definitely make you a more well-rounded programmer.
