Hi and greetings from South Texas. This was a very well thought out process for testing the muffler on your bike. The only thing that I can think of that it needed was listing the weight differential between the stock and new muffler. Thanks for making the video. I have not changed my muffler or added the booster plug, but I did install a K&N type filter (now I can hear the air intake more) and I changed the stock plug to an NGK platinum. I also adjusted my valve tappets at the required interval. AmosTheMightyHimalayan is still not any faster but it breathes better and still goes from A->Z reliably. Which is really what I wanted. For safety I upgraded my turn signals to LED, my tail/brake light is now a flashing LED when I stop, and I installed larger and more adjustable mirrors so that I can see more than my shoulders. Again, thank you for a good informative review and video.

Thank-you for your honest review and opinions. I've see others who claim some ridiculous 20% increase in performance with those mods, which makes no sense. I did much those same mods (plus some) on my own Himalayan and the actual true and perceivable gain has been in rideability and enjoyment, which was my goal; and, yes, a shorter, lower and presumably lower temperature free-flowing muffler is very beneficial to the fitting of soft panniers. Also, a free-flowing muffler takes about 3 Kg off, and another 2-3 Kg can be saved by fitting a LiFePo4 battery. Back to so-called "performance" mods, you cannot squeeze orange juice out of a lemon, if I wanted a performance bike I would buy a different one. This isn't my only motorbike but it is the one that I love most.

And by the way to be abundantly clear, this exhaust is made of steel and it is not much lighter than stock one. Unfortunately I didn't have scales to measure them.
@ethanrhanielle2474 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's ridiculous cause extra airflow out is no good if you don't have extra airflow coming in and a booster plug to add some much needed fuel to the super lean running engine. If you do all these, you can probably gain up to 3HP tbh.

Simple Power trick for Himalayan.Intake has a bakelite spacer between head and intake.This is weak point as can crack during installation.Best to immediately remove and .replace with a homemade gasket .This places throttle body closer to the head.Installation is much easier as before pressure was pushing against making intake installation with airbox not removed very difficult.A very noticeable increase in lowend torque is apparent and weak brittlespacer cannot crack and enter combustion chamber.Or one can replace spacer with a 1/4 inch aluminum plate with gasket to achieve almost same length.Shorter Allen bolts are necessary for spacer delete.

Hello Vlad Dave in France here and thank you very much for this excellent video. I particularly liked the respect you showed to the exhaust supplier and the various methods you used during the testing phase. If I may I would like to offer you a piece of advice? Now that you have installed a number of changes - air filter/exhaust/power plug - it would be a good time to try the new TEC camshaft from GB plus a new Iridium tipped spark plug. These two modifications will bring together all that you have done up to now and give you something like 20% more and torque.

Hi! I won't go with 16 teeth sprocket, until I have true performance upgrade such as better camshaft or big bore kit. On other side 16th sprocket will be extra load for shaft teeth.
