I watched another video changing the muffler, he also found paint scratches to metal caused by the muffler. His also had a dent in the muffler from the nut on the frame striking the muffler and part of the sticker was scratched off under the muffler. He did find the corresponding marks to verify it was the muffle hitting the chain stay arm. I think you new muffler looks nice, I prefer it over the other common options I see for the aesthetic. I want one now! I am impressed it even uses the original covers so the look feels matched and proper.

Thanks, I choose this muffler because of its looks, it doesn't change the original lines of the bike, also the sound I'm my opinion is just right, not to loud but a nice rumble, you do have the option to remove the baffle but for me it's too much, since I've changed mine there has been no more marking on the swing arm, very strange, thanks for watching the video........Colin ☺️

I have one of these mufflers ordered and clicked on this video to see what was involved in installing one. The scratch on the trailing arm, I bet was caused by the shield, not the muffler. Have a look see at that. I will also say, that I had a set of the Powerage mufflers on my 650INT, and really liked the sound, so that's why I chose to get the same brand for my Scram 411.

Thank you so much, ok, I fitted the powerage exhaust and a BMC hi flow filter, more air coming in needs to be able to get out, for me the bike is a lot more responsive and smoother throughout the revs, my bike now has done just over 2150km and it runs like a dream, I go on a small trip Sunday, should be around 1500km so looking forward to see how it performs, videos on when I'm back ........Colin 😊

Hi there, enjoyed your very informative video and the exhaust sounds/looks great. I will be picking up a brand new Himalayan 411 in Glacier blue in the next week. I am debating whether to put a performance air filter together with the high flow intake plate (as well as the exhaust) but the people who sell the dna filters have advised against this for Euro5 models because they run too weak without fuelx electronic box. They also say that the ecu isn't sophisticated enough to adjust settings very well. What are your thoughts? I have also been advised by the dealer to run on E5 fuel. What do you think? Been riding for 54 years so not a beginner! Thanks for any advice you can offer.
@droneon298 ай бұрын
Hi Keith, thanks for watching the video, the Glacier blue is a great colour, ok, I fitted a BMC air filter and plate, I changed the spark plug to a iridium plug and as you know I changed the exhaust, none of these gave me anymore top end speed, but it made a big difference throughout the gears, the bike was more responsive and a lot more smoother, it also made hill climbs a lot easier as the whole engine was able to breath, I have little faith in dealers, and of course by doing this your warranty is void, for me this was fine as I didn't want my bike worked on by anyone else, so careful consideration is needed, my bike is a Euro 5 and I'm glad I made these changes, i use E5 petrol, i hope this helps ........colin
@keithmarsh11698 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I also have a euro5 Interceptor Dark (colour blue with cast wheels.) I have put Scorpions on that and also the dna filter/high flow intake plate. It definitely lets the engine breathe better so I couldn't understand the warning from tec bike parts about the potential for running weak! I hear what you say about dealers so I guess I will have to decide for myself. I just don't want to hole a piston! Thanks again for your help and advice. @@droneon29

@@droneon29 four reasons i'm thus going for the powerage: 1: i do like the original protective cover and the powerage is apparently compatible; 2: reasonable price, considering the affordability of the himalayan it's simply silly to put a multi-hundred pound/euro slip-on ; 3: like the bike it's INDIAN!; 4: indeed great sound!! thanks again Colin, please keep up the videos! very inspiring!

Hi, no you shouldn't be getting any leaks, have you checked to see if the bolts are nice and tight? Also was the end of the exhaust clean before you fitted it? you can get some exhaust paste to seal the pipes together, but under normal circumstances you shouldn't need it, check it all again, hopefully you'll be able to sort it, take care and good luck....... Hi thanks for taking a look at the video, it's strange on mine as there are no marks at all on the exhaust and you would think there would be, also when it's on either of its stands there appears to be plenty of clearance between the swingarm and exhaust, so I think its a safe bet to assume there is a fair bit I side to side play in the suspension linkage when the bike is being ridden.........colin

@droneon29 Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching, I changed the air filter for a BMC high air flow filter, I also changed the stock plug for a NGK iridium, to tune the bike, when the air filter was fitted I ran the bike at idle for 15 minutes this allows the ECU to readjust itself, the same for the exhaust.......... @@ontheroad8149 to be honest any booster device isn't really worth the effort, you can fit any of the others, exhaust, air filter or plug independently, but for the best results all three are good, in my case I did the plug and filter first, followed a couple of weeks later by the exhaust, it doesn't in anyway gain speed, but the engine runs a lot smoother with more response through the gears .........Colin
