Yes, I kept thinking it was a problem on my end. It finally disappears around 13:55. Was still able to grasp the lesson.

Hi Avi Many thanks for this practical power BI video. If I follow along using the Power Query Editor approach, I will be prompted with a DataSource Error as I do not have access to Aging_Report_Work_Order_Dummy_Data.xlsx. As an alternative, would it be feasible to use the DAX approach to create the Age column?

Great tutorial, very clear explanation. Is it possible to use the customized order age groups as a legend in the open order trend chart? So we know how the # of open orders in each age group across time? It seems the age group measure cannot be used in a legend. Any advice is appreciated.

This is a great video, but I couldn't find the Ageing files at the download link. I got YTD Sales files instead.

Hi Avi, great to see you do that with the bins, very clean. I'm really curious for the last part though, where the historical trend is included. Is there going to be a video on this as well?

Hey Neils, Glad you liked the video. Generally we aim for A) KZbin Channel = Content for Beginners B) LearnPowerBI Training Program www.learnpowerbi.com/training Also aimed for beginners, but step-by-step structured content so they can learn Power BI end to end. C) Advanced Program: Under Construction www.learnpowerbi.com/advanced Our Advanced Program is where we would include the detailed video with trends. That's the plan for now :-) Power On! / Avi

Hey Avi, how do we set up our data to look similar to a heat map style tree map? Like the ones you see for the SP500?

Hey Hermit, can you send us a link to what one of these looks like?

Hello, I need to create an aging report that shows the PROJECTED age group of items per date unit. keep in mind, new items are expected in every month and old items are expected out on a certain date. How do I calculate so that I can show by month, by age group, the expected number of items? Its to answer "We have x amount in our fleet today and they fall in these yearly brackets,this is the forecasted age bracket of our fleet by month
@PowerBIPro2 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, thanks for being a subscriber 💛. That's an interesting scenario. Let me see if I get this right... Your data perhaps looks like this Vessel_ID Start_Date End_Date 001 Jan 1, 2022 Jul 1, 2022 002 Feb 1, 2022 Feb 1, 2023 003 Apr 1, 2022 Dec 1, 2022 004 Sep 1, 2022 Aug 1, 2023 So it has the Start Date and End Date. But in some cases the Start Date is actually expected Start Date (e.g. Vessel 004 starts in future). And in some cases the End Date is in future and is the expected end date. Now the data does not have to be exactly in this format...but I am getting it right at high level? If I am, then I can totally see, how and why you would be interested in showing that on a given future month, what would be the average age of the fleet? Which ones would be the oldest vessel etc. If so, what you would be looking for would be the "Trend" graphs I allude to at the end of this video. If you can do the trend going back in past, you can also do it going forward in future. I do plan to create the videos showing the "Trend" but the plan is to include them in our Advanced Power BI Course. Power On! / Avi

@@PowerBIPro Your response is spot on and thank you so much for replying. Basically, older vessels pose more of a risk of breaking down than newer ones, so I’d like a table/bar chart that shows the projected age group out 24 months. With the expected out to facilitate conversations like “our current plan to replace vessels is requiring x% to run y years long. I’ll put together a mock up of the desired outcome and reply with a link in the next 1-2 days.

@@PowerBIPro Hello, thank you again for replying. here is a link to a mock up in excel i.imgur.com/Ngrba1w.png basically, we're going to needing to run vessels past their warranty date, so we want to see how much of the fleet is exposed per month
