I saw fuel injection conversion and thought it’s the basic hei and Howell or something. Nope, let’s make it into a modern multi port injected engine. Awesome

Try finding that MOPAR F.I. Kit for the Jeep 258 six. They stopped making those kits over 15 years ago. Or about the same time as this episode.

Now im getting confused here....that Mel guy was gone early in the Series...but it shows the wicked willys in the background completed, which I know Stacey built while he was by himself on the show. Did Mel come back later on for a short run or something? Don't remember seeing him past the first season??

Was REALLY hoping they'd touch on the smack down Ford got for making changes to the early Jeep( I never get tired of that😁) and Ford's rebellion. They just couldn't stand they lost the competition.

Just because you've removed/bolted-in an aftermarket intake manifold that MOPAR made without the appropriate, power steering pump mount bosses, doesn't magically eliminate the need for that power steering pump support. Cutting off those mount ears on the power steering mount bracket is hardly the answer.

Not all emissions carburetor run like crap. On my first car I had a Holley 4150 emissions legal carb and it ran great and even pumped out 327Hp on the dyno. I believe it was 6919 model or something like that. I did modify it a bit, jets/squirters/power valve. Back then emissions were still mandated on my car. The next year the emissions were lifted but the carb ran so well I left it on. I eventually sold it to someone in Canada for their Maverick.

Fuel line running across the front core support, that's a disaster waiting to happen if it gets in a head on collision.

No doubt. When I coverted mine with the Howell system, I rerouted the line up the driver-side and used steel braided fuel line from the tank to the TBI.

@@scottdoubleyou563 So with doing an inline pump like that. Can you keep the factory pump inside the tank or is there more that needs to be done? I've looked everywhere but can't really find anything.
@scottdoubleyou5632 жыл бұрын
@@alecon2249 Doing an external pump means you won't need one in the tank. Depending on what fuel injection you use however, an in tank pump may be to your advantage. It really depends on the car/truck, what you plan to use it for, and your budget.
