Shumi bhai, bahot hi accha laga aapka Podcast. Main ek calibration engineer hoon, aur mera kaam aap logon ki tarah hi hai. Gaadiyon ka parikshan karna, aur unko behtar banana Mere dimaag mein kuch ideas hain jo main applogon ke saath share karna chahta hoon. Mera vichaar innovation ko lekar hai. Thoda data driven jisse reviews aur behtar ho sakte hain. Sabse badhiya tareeka kya rahega aaplog se is baare mein aur baat karne ka ? Kya aap log is baare mein mujhse baat karna chahenge ?

Vital 40 min for automotive enthusiastic... My learning: 1. Love and respect every motorcycle/cars... no matter the capacity 2. how to get into automobile journalism 3. Do what you love....live for passion 4. Its looks easy but its not. 5. The hard work behind 10 min reviews videos. 6. Articulation is the key factor. Express what you feel. And for so long I was wondering, why Shumi has Dark circles.... I got my answer today... Thank you shumi for sharing your extensive experience with us. Kudos to Shumi, Rohan and team PD.

When I saw the time of this I was pretty sure that I have to skip few minutes but that didn't happen at all. 39 minutes in one go that does reflect how concise this podcast is Considering the topic which is vast yet fabulous work to focus on important sections and questions. I'd say would be good if pointers are added on the screen of the question or like a summary. If possible it would be helpful if you make a video about a day in automotive journalist's life.

This is what a student who's aspiring for any profession needs to hear. The nitty gritties of the job, and not just a "be an X, fir toh aish hi hai". Each profession demands something niche and specific from an individual, and so many people could do good with such knowledge being available to them which would help them choose the right path and not be stuck at jobs they hate. Well done, PD, and as always, Schumi is so eloquent and fluid about what he wants to say!

I agree with equal respect theory for the vehicles cause when they are flagship spoiled that is used big bikes and costly cars the review isn't a review anymore, it is more like a "relative" review as they start comparing it with the better stuff which is high priced and forgets about the value it offers. I enjoy a 125cc glamour and a 150cc engineered for performance R15 so very much XD

Shumi this has to be one of the most detailed, honest and precise advice one can deliver over the format you have. It truly paints the true picture. Automobiles, are fantasies and when’s jobs are associated with it (journalists, testers etc) we tend to admire them with only a singular view, not looking at the entire picture. Appreciate the way you have done this. Keep up the great work.

I am running a business in jaipur. I have never ridden a two wheeler in my life before 2020. In 2020 my wife expressed that she wanted to go on long ride / small ride within jaipur all of sudden. That moment I decide to learn how to ride a bike at a age of 28. I asked my office peon to help me out with this and he was soo happy to help me out on his splender. The first time I rode that bike trust me I felt like I have missed something very important in my life. During that moment power drift was introduced to me by one of my friend and since then I am fan of Shumi and singhee ❤️

And you know what this is my Dream Job since the time I was in School. Don't know where to approach and wat to do. I am 37 now and now I got a clear picture of how things work but unfortunately I cannot shift over because I dint complete my Graduation just because of a paper. I left it so lethargic but one thing is for sure my passion towards learning about Automobiles will never stop and i will keep updating myself but one fine day i have to die with this Dream which will never come true. Anyways tanq Shumi for making this wonderful video. I just loved it and I dint even skip a second. Keep doing such valuable stuffs.

Very informative Podcast and thank you so much for putting it together. I have tried a few times over these years approaching the Automotive media/publishing houses to atleast give an opportunity for an interview, without any revert from them. But given the opportunity would really like to be part of this industry and contribute.

WOW Shumi what an explanation. This will definitely give everyone a clear idea of how things actually work in Automobile Journalism. And that its not only about driving or riding high end cars and bikes or getting to travel places. After watching this many will start understanding their real level of passion for automobiles. Too Good.

It has always been said and has always been proved by PD that there is something for everyone at PD. Thank you PD and Shumi Sir for taking in and responding to the feedback and queries of PDArmy and I believe that's why people love PowerDrift more than any other automotive channel! I am an aspiring Photographer and I have great interest in films too and I would love to love to see a podcast on automotive filmmaking. PD has the best visual artists and I believe a podcast would be really really helpful to all the budding filmmakers who wishes to join PD as an editor/cinematographer/screenplay writer etc.

Excellent. One thing you should have mentioned is upskilling. Practise. Practise writing by reading, reading & writing more and more. More you read, more you write the better you will become. Same with video, which also needs half-decent writing skills for scripting and lots of practise in front of a mirror to put out clean, lucid, intelligent content. And finally the best in this business have motorsport in their blood. I don’t mean they’re a Rossi but they’re mad passionate about racing / rallying and that’s where their understanding of machine dynamics + the human elements makes such a difference. Oh, people skills. Super important. Most of us lack that....

Slowly. The nature of the work changes very little. The nature of the output has to adapt based on how people consume the content

A week back, I happened to ride 7-year-old active for 100 km and was wondering, how great it would have been to tell my experience to the world. This has always happened irrespective of the bikes I have ridden. I guess this video is made me realize something. For the past 5 years, reading about bikes, watching hours and hours videos on bikes, travel vlogs, reviews might help me at something. The content, topics covered, the story told, story flow, everything was on point ! Thank you for this.

This might be a long comment but some things are in my mind that I want to share. I learned to ride bike in 2016 at the age of 21, before that I never rode a bike or cycle even... In 2016 I learned it and at the same time I stumbled upon a video of duke 200 review from power to the rider then later on discovered Powerdrift and since then I have been hooked on to Bike riding and as I was new to riding bike(still new) and finding powerdrift at the same time, I kind off learned more from powerdrift about riding and whatever kind of rider I am today, not fast though but major credit goes to powerdrift. Due to this channel I started enjoying bikes no matter what they are and side by side in recent years journalism started to attract me but till today one thing is just pulling back is the lack of knowledge.. When you guys speak about front end of bike is feeling different or you are saying engine is behaving in certain way at this particular gear, I could never understand those but my fellow rider friends could. I dont know where I stand in this bike world in terms of knowledge. I know I lack lot of experience but I am getting lot of happiness when I am on the bike.. Got teared up once when I went off road with my bike for 20km and bike survived with me... Just want to know for a guy like me who is not having any knowledge but loves bikes, what one needs to do to become better and can you make powerdrift video project where we as an audience are given chance to speak/review about our bikes where you will mention the criteria or how the review should be, what it should have etc and help us test ourselves. made a small B-roll of tata altroz which is there on my channel.. sorry if this comment was boring to read but I sincerely thank powerdrift as it contributed alot in me to become a safe rider...recently a podcast by shumi for riding in rain changed my whole perception about riding in rain.. I used to hate riding in rain but now I love it, now I am able to understand how the grip feels, throttle inputs, different kind of lean angle, braking in rain etc and man it makes riding more awesome when roads dries as things learned in wet roads help in dry roads... sorry again for this long comment.. thank you...

The acquisition of knowledge and the video project you suggest are not connected to each other in anyway. Today the internet has so much information available that anyone saying I don't know where to start learning is, I'm sorry to say this, being lazy. Start looking up information on whatever about motorcycles you don't know. Start there, making a review of your bike can happen after the knowledge base has been built. A video without content will just never work. Your knowledge is that content
