I am currently driving a 2012 k10 with just 36,000 kms on the clock. It is my family's first car and we all learnt driving in it, but sadly it was just sitting in the parking for the last 10 years with only 22000 kms and original set of Bridgestone tyres that came with the car when new. Finally, 6 months ago, I decided to use this car as my daily driver, got it thoroughly serviced, all fluids changed, got the clutch assembly overhauled and put some new tyres on. I was immediately blown away as the car is practically new again. The peppy engine, low height and compact body really help both in city as well on the highways. I've named my car "The Nimbus" and I absolutely love it. Yes the cars these days are safer, more feature packed and more frugal, but this car just hits different.

Proud owner of the 1st gen Alto K10 since 2012 🤍 Its a pocket rocket and it looks better than every other Alto and K10 before and after. Only thing it lacks is for the power, it shouldve had better safety and a little wider tyre for the highway. Else its a delight in the city.

Driving itself is a SPORT. Alto ; all the generations and all the variants released right from its launch year are fantastic cars to have an enthusiastic ride...! The power in Alto is very much sufficient for Indian driving conditions. Excellent cars to drive and own.

More basic the car, more easy to drive to its limits and that's what gives the pleasure to constantly touch the limit. We need a mix of unpredictability and control, that can be easily achieved by entry-level vehicles.

I agree. I still have a 18-year-old Alto 800 which has taken me on highways, hill roads, mud canyons with extraordinary times such as a regular Chennai-Bangalore run in 3h 40m.

Certainly, Alto K10 is a pocket rocket. I have been using the 2nd generation K10 for the last 7 years & trust me every time I drive it, it puts a smile on my face. It's compact, it's nimble, it's frugal & it's powerful as well. On highways i have given many big cars and SUVs run for their money.

Simply love my 22 yrs old Alto 1.1 VXI. Used to race with Volvo and Mercedes Actros buses on NH2 back in those days when the speeds were not restricted. Top Speed achieved around 160kmph on speedo. The all aluminum 4 cylinder 16valve engine was a gem.

I drive an old 4X 4 That....first gen, with stupid amount of torque....take on Skoda Rapid & others on take off....and the other is a beautiful old yellow Lancer sports ( 2001 model, & yet easily gets into 150+ kmph)but then decided to take an Alto K 10 to Manali...ofc, i wanted to drive the Thar...but my friend convinced me otherwise... Delhi to Manali takes about 11 hours...i was okay till we hit the climb & then suddenly realised how interesting is an Alto to drive....it was peppy in its own right.....had enough power to overtake on the mountain roads & a good feel & balance...yes, not comparing an Alto the turbo charged That or the road hugging Lancer, but , honestly, i had no complaints after really ripping an Alto for 23 hours+ of constant driving... definitely agree with you... Alto is fun... would i buy it? Maybe not... would i take her out on a long drive? Definitely yes.

Fantastic video! The OG Alto K10 is the spiritual successor to the OG Zen even though it's one segment below. What a fun car to drive. I had two of them and also the OG Zen. Great memories and times. I loved the new K10 too but I feel it's priced a little too high compared to what you can get for a little bit more. Like the Ignis. Still a cute car. But your K10 looks rad!

i was absolutely wanting this kind of video from pd. i have alto lx bought in 2002 and still run it and sometimes it becomes a sports car for me, i do launch and drifts often. nothing is modified from the mechanical pars or from outside, but ive installed lights worth 10k and a 10" display with the rare cam and red and black sporty looking sports car. its been 21+ years and i still love that car im driving the car from 2018 and just love the feel of it. thank you pd for making such video❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥

I prefer the 2001-2002 Maruti Zen. At 750kg kerb weight, it was light and very agile. Some Tire, suspension and engine upgrades went a long way.

I had that Version 1 K10 in VXi form. Was gem of a car. That small car with a heart that can pull a bit bigger cars (A-Star, Estilo, WagonR and Celerio) was a fantastic cute little powerhouse. Complimented by the low stance, it had quite a grip on the road. Dump the clutch at 4k revs and the driver used to be pushed into the seat, not like a Lambo or Ferrari, but enough to put a smile on the face.

I would love to have fun driving small cars like this... if I could fit in them. I have a diesel Amaze (gen 1) I bought used. Love driving it for the sheer corner speed it carries with a simple tire upsize. Add the fact that it actually fits 4 people of my size (6'1", 220 lbs, around 100 kilos, I think) and I genuinely enjoy getting in, out and sitting in the car.

Honestly, same bruh. I've been looking to upgrade the family car, a 2009 i10. At first I wanted to get something brash and bhokali for myself but as I thought more about it I decided to get something more practical for mom and dad. And keep the i10 for myself it's still super fun as a sleeper and can fuck with i20s and balenos in traffic and on corners. There's just something so satisfyingly je ne sais quoi about beating a newer better car 😅😂

What is your opinion about the Hyundai Eon? More specifically the 800cc one? Im curious to know how it compares against the Alto. Asking this because it was my first car, and today I own a Thar but I have no intention of selling the Eon.
