When I grow up I want to be just like Ron. He got me started again in wood work

I’ve been looking at new cranks to replace the electric one that broke on my travel trailer, that I never trusted anyway. This is perfect! No motor or wires to break. I can use the hand crank or my drill. Thank you Ron.

I just ordered one. Thanks again

This is a great idea.. I can also see a type of locking device to go over the jack to eliminate a thief from stealing your trailer. Lets invent one Paul, tongue lock and Jack lock, double protection. It's one thing to have a scaffold board trailer stolen and 1000x more devastating to have all your tools stolen. I speak from experience

What was the clever gadget that you used to move the trailer. Looked as it it was driven by a DeWalt battery pack?

@@TheSmartWoodshop Ron, have you had any experience using the valet on inclines, how is the braking power?

Thanks Ron.

@@craigwhitney9757 I use it on slight inclines, but would not take a 7,000# trailer down a hill with any walk-behind tug. The Trailer Valet is perfect for it's intended purpose: moving the trailer around in tight spaces and doing things a pickup truck can't do. For big moves, I will default to my pickup truck.

Great idea. Get a Jack-E-Up and you can remove it in seconds when you have it on your truck.

Cant we put a jockey wheel at the bottom of it instead of the foot?
@TheSmartWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not.
@51-FS3 жыл бұрын
Yes as long as it has a removable foot

Thanks Ron. I have it in my cart. A little for you to support your channel and they are not charging me any more!

A bit of added security also not having a handle on the jack.

Just a little bit not much tho

If the hand crank jack that came with the trailer ever gets damaged and needs replacing I can see getting this. I can't see myself spending the money just for the purpose of upgrading. I have a hunch that hand cranking takes less time than taking the drill out of the trailer. putting the attachment in the chuck and putting it all away after.

If your hooking and unhooking everyday of the work week I guess I would just leave the cordless in the cab of the pickup dedicated for the task.

How much juice does the dolly take? Are you constantly charging or?
@TheSmartWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
I have not had to change the battery during a move so far. The Dewalt 60v system seems to be solid.

I just weld a nut onto the shaft that the handle attaches to cost me less than a $1 .

Sounds like bluster. Do it, make a video, show receipts, and honestly document your time. Easy to talk and even easier to chatter on social media and then not back it up.

That's a valid option if you already have the welder and the skill to do it. Not everyone have a welder or the require skills.
